Wilson Bethel Is Already Campaigning for Bullseye’s Iconic Black and White Suit in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3

The journey of Benjamin Poindexter through the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been one of the most carefully constructed villain arcs in recent memory. Wilson Bethel first brought the character to life in Netflix’s ‘Daredevil‘, where he was denied the chance to wear the character’s classic comic-accurate blue costume despite fans hoping it would arrive by the show’s third season. That long wait made his eventual suited-up appearance all the more meaningful for the fanbase that never stopped rooting for him.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 marked a significant turning point, with Bethel returning as Poindexter and the show finally delivering the most comic-accurate version of the Bullseye costume to date, complete with the character’s iconic bullseye image on his forehead. The updated tactical suit drew clear inspiration from Marco Checchetto’s celebrated comic book design, which sent a clear signal to longtime readers that the creative team was listening.

Now, it seems Bethel himself is setting his sights even further. In an exclusive interview with The Direct following the Season 2 finale, the actor was asked about the odds of Bullseye eventually donning his other celebrated look from the source material, the stark black and white suit that has become one of the villain’s most recognisable designs. Bethel left no room for ambiguity about where he stands, telling “You can absolutely keep hope alive. What I always say is, as we’ve seen with Daredevil, over, going on, six seasons of this show now, that suit has evolved at least five or six times. So, I think there’s a lot of room for evolution. And just know, to any fans out there, that I’m on your side. I am advocating for that too.”

The Season 2 finale itself left Poindexter in a fascinating and volatile position, with its closing moments placing him alongside the mysterious Mr. Charles and teasing a dangerous new alliance. Bethel has acknowledged that this development opens the door to entirely new storytelling possibilities, which means the character’s wardrobe ambitions may not be the only thing evolving heading into whatever comes next.

The show continues to build toward Daredevil assembling a team to push back against the fallout from Mayor Fisk’s grip on New York City, and Bullseye’s unpredictable loyalty makes him one of the most compelling wildcards in that equation.

What makes Bethel’s campaign particularly persuasive is how grounded it is in the show’s own precedent. If ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has proven anything over its run, it is that the creative team treats costume evolution as storytelling, not just spectacle. With the series already having demonstrated its willingness to honour decades of comic book history while pushing the character into genuinely surprising new territory, the case for that black and white suit arriving sooner rather than later feels stronger than ever.

Now that Bethel has gone on record as the character’s biggest in-house advocate, the real question belongs to the fans: how badly do you want to see Bullseye in the classic black and white suit, and do you think ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 is finally the moment it happens?
