One Piece: Is Doflamingo a Seraphim? No, But There Will Be a Doflamingo-Based Seraphim!
Donquixote Doflamingo from One Piece is a descendant of the Donquixote family but without the status of a World Noble. He makes a name for himself as the captain of the pirate gang named after his family and eventually becomes a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and one of the series’ best villains. After his defeat at the hands of Luffy, two years after the Battle of Marineford, Doflamingo is brought to Impel Down. In that aspect, Doflamingo is one of the series’ most powerful villains and one of its most-hated characters. But, in light of the recent revelations – is he a Seraphim? We are going to examine that in this article and reveal everything you need to know about this question.
No, Donquixote Doflamingo is not a Seraphim. When he was born, the Seraphim did not even exist, and due to him not having any Lunarian traits, it is impossible for him to actually be one. But, knowing who the Seraphim are and how they are created, we’re quite certain that Chapter 1086 of the manga is going to reveal a Seraphim clone of Donquixote Doflamingo, although we still don’t know what the clone will look like.
The rest of this article will elaborate on the theory that Donquixote Doflamingo might be a Seraphim in One Piece. We will expand on the answer given above by telling you who the Seraphim are and how they are created, but also why Donquixote Doflamingo is actually not a Seraphim, i.e., why he couldn’t even be one. But, you’ll also find some other interesting information related to this issue. The article, though, will be full of spoilers from the most recent manga chapters, so if you don’t want to know everything, be careful how you approach the text.
The Seraphim are a new force to be reckoned with
Dr. Vegapunk developed the Seraphim through a highly costly process to replace the Seven Warriors of the Sea, which proved exceedingly unreliable. The Marines occasionally struggle to control them because once they are given the order to attack, they completely disregard everything and don’t even care about their own. They are cyborgs, like the Pacifista, who were created to be living weapons, which explains why they are so blindly loyal and listen to orders without any hesitation or restraint. They frequently keep mute as well.
They are made in a very particular way. They undergo a process of drastically rapid growth and are infused with blood from King’s Lunarian race, which gives them their distinctive dark skin tone, black wings, and white hair, as well as material from the original Seven Warlords, which accounts for their look.
They are also infused with Green Blood, a unique material that, when combined with the Lineage Factor of a Paramecia-type user, enables a Seraphim to mimic and augment the Devil Fruit skills of that user. They are, in essence, a hybrid of a Pacifista, a Warlord of the Sea, and a Lunarian, all with the Green Blood component added.
As we have previously stated, they were designed to be the ideal weapons because they are cyborgs and will obediently follow the orders of the World Government; this explains the nickname The Strongest Form of Humanity. This, along with the fact that they would just charge into a conflict head-on, neglecting their own safety as well as the safety of their own friends, is what makes them so dangerous.
However, despite having Lunarian enhancements and having a more youthful appearance than the original Warlords but appearing to be far more powerful than them, the Seraphim are not entirely identical to the original Warlords.
So far, only four of them have been seen, but spoilers from Chapter 1086 suggest that the remaining three are going to be clones of Gecko Moria, Sir Crocodile, and – Donquixote Doflamingo. So, could Doflamingo be a Seraphim? No!
There is no way that Donquixote Doflamingo is actually a Seraphim
As we have said, there is no way that Doflamingo himself is a Seraphim, but the manga will most likely reveal a Seraphim clone of Doflamingo, although we still don’t know its name (possibly S-Flamingo?). So, how is it impossible for Doflamingo to be a Seraphim?
Well, first of all, the Seraphim were created only recently as Vegapunk’s answer to the Seven Warlords of the Sea. The process was not known 41 years prior to when Doflamingo was actually born, so there is no way that he could be a Seraphim.
Plus, that would defeat the point of the original Seven Warlords of the Sea and the Seraphim now. On top of that, Doflamingo does not even look like a Seraphim – his skin is not darker, he doesn’t have white hair, and he has no wings. Also, he has grown normally, like all humans, and now looks like a grown man, unlike the Seraphim, who all look like children. This is why we assume that the Seraphim clone of Doflamingo will look like a child version of the character.
On top of that, Doflamingo was neither fully obedient to the World Government, as the Seraphim are, nor was he especially powerful. Sure, he was strong, but he was “normal-level” strong and not enhanced in any way, like the rest of the Seraphim. This is why this theory does not make any sense as well.
Finally, we know Doflamingo’s family history. We know what happened to him during his childhood, and we know how his story evolved. We’ve seen it, and that fact alone contradicts everything these theories about Doflamingo being a Seraphim claim. We know his parents, his late brother, how his family lost their status, and everything else. This is why there is absolutely no way that Doflamingo is a Seraphim, but, as we have said, a Seraphim clone of him will probably appear in the series.
