Boa Hancock is one of the most popular supporting characters in One Piece, mainly because of her very specific relationship with Luffy. Now, she has been featured as a main character during the events of Amazon Lily, but since then, her role in the series has been smaller, and while we have seen her in later chapters, she hasn’t played a big role in the series. Some fans are wondering about her fate, and in this article, we are going to tell you whether she will die in the series and what will happen to her later.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Boa Hancock is the captain of the Kuja Pirates and the current empress of Amazon Lily; she is also known as the “Snake Princess.”
  • Boa Hancock was once the only female Warlord of the Sea, which testifies to her powers. She also has the Mero Mero no Mi, a powerful Devil Fruit. She is best known for her relationship with Luffy.
  • Boa Hancock is currently alive in the series, but after she narrowly avoided death when Blackbeard attacked her, she said she would never be safe.

Boa Hancock is still alive, but she herself stated that she is not entirely safe

Boa Hancock is a well-known character; as we usually do in these kinds of articles, we will present her story to you. Hence, you know everything there is to know about her and her story, as that will be the best way to understand what happened to her.

Hancock, along with her sisters, was bought as a slave at the age of twelve by slave traders from the Kuja pirate gang’s ship. She is still reminded of this time by the mark on her back, a brand that is given to all slaves of the World Nobles. Hancock was given the Mero Mero no Mi to entertain them, which she ate and subsequently gained her powers. They regained their freedom when the legendary Fisher Tiger, a bare-handed Fish-Man, entered the sacred city of Mary Geoise to free the Fish-Men trapped there.

Hancock’s reputation as the most beautiful woman, whose beauty is surpassed only by that of mermaids, soon became known worldwide. As ruler of the Kuja tribe, she has a high reputation among the Amazons of Amazon Lily Island, which she owes not only to her beauty but also to the legend that she and her sisters killed a Gorgon and that all three were then cursed, but this is only a ruse.

Shortly after Luffy defeats Saint Charlos and provokes an attack by Marine Admiral Kizaru, Hancock receives a request from the World Government to come to Marineford to witness the execution of the recently captured Ace; however, Hancock ignores the order, which prompts Vice Admiral Momonga to go to Amazon Lily to pick her up personally or give her the choice of losing her status as a Shichibukai. But in response to his urging, Hancock petrifies his crew with her powers.

She eventually returns with her crew to the Kuja settlement on Amazon Lily. Still, she is confronted by a male intruder who eventually spots her mark on her back as she bathes alone. Luffy enters while fleeing from the other Kuja and sees the mark on her back. Since he appears to be immune to her attack, Hancock finally prevents him from escaping with a Pistol Kiss so that he can be captured.

In the settlement arena, Luffy is supposed to die in battle for his crime of entering the island of women, to the amusement of the others. But first, Hancock punishes those who brought Luffy to the settlement in the first place and then proceeds to fight with Luffy, which ends in the pirate winning and Boa falling in love with him.

Later, while Luffy celebrates with the Kuja and is later brought back to the castle by Marguerite, Hancock is struck by a mysterious illness. Shortly after Luffy learns that Hancock is a Shichibukai and that his brother Ace is about to be executed, her maid Enishida summons Gloriosa to check on Hancock, who is in bed with a fever. Belladonna doesn’t know what to do with the symptoms either, but Gloriosa knows the disease. Hancock has fallen ill with lovesickness, and Gloriosa believes that this illness has already affected and killed some of Hancock’s predecessors.

Gloriosa also suffered from this illness and could only cure it by leaving the island. The illness causes Hancock severe pain, but regardless of her condition, Gloriosa asks Hancock to listen again to Luffy, who asks the Pirate Emperor to follow the draft to Marineford but to request a detour to Impel Down so that she can smuggle him into the prison.

Hancock’s sisters barge into the conversation to protect their big sister, but Hancock agrees to go wherever Luffy sends them. Hancock smuggles Luffy onto Momonga’s ship by hiding him under her robe. On the journey to Impel Down, she keeps the ship’s crew busy so that her Luffy can eat well.

Worried about Luffy, she leaves Impel Down shortly afterward and is taken to Momonga’s ship to Marineford, where she and four other Shichibukai await Shirohige’s arrival and also learn that Ace and Luffy are actually not related to each other at all. When the battle begins, she defends herself against Whitebeard’s allied pirates but doesn’t shy away from hitting everyone else around her with her attacks.

When Luffy finally arrives, she is very relieved, and from then on, she does everything she can to help him free Ace. So she angrily intervenes when Smoker attacks her lover and kicks the flotilla admiral aside using her haki. Later, she gives Luffy the key that unlocks Ace’s Seastone handcuffs and watches his back as Smoker attacks again. Later, she is also there when Luffy is attacked by two Pacifista. She protects herself from him and his two attackers, who stop their actions because they see Hancock as an ally.

As a result, she puts several of the Pacifista out of action, which causes Sentōmaru to intervene. She emerges from the conflict in which both Ace and Shirohige lose their lives and which ends with the appearance of Shanks and his pirate gang without a scratch, even after the arrival of Kurohige and his pirate gang, so that she quickly becomes a naval warship hijacks to rush after her Luffy together with Emporio Ivankov and the Newkamas, who is rescued and given medical care by Trafalgar Law and the Heart Pirates.

With Salome’s help, she can track down the Heart Pirates’ submarine and get them to the surface. On the submarine’s deck, she worries about Luffy, who must have lost all hope after his brother’s death. She realizes that the World Government will come after Luffy if they find out he is still alive, so she and Jinbei want to take the Heart Pirates to Amazon Lily, where she wants to hide Luffy. Boa survived these events and later lost her title when the Seven Warlords were disbanded.

She was later targeted by the Marines and Blackbeard

Sometime later, Boa Hancock was the target of a simultaneous attack by the Marines and by Blackbeard. The Marines, led by Koby and with two Seraphim at his side, wanted to capture Boa Hancock as they deemed her a dangerous foe, while Blackbeard arrived on the island to take her Devil Fruit; Blackbeard believed that she was dangerous because no one could resist her powers, so he wanted to take them away from here, even though she told him that her powers only work because of her beauty and that they would be useless in Blackbeard’s possession.

So, how did this play out for her? Well, Boa, Koby, and Blackbeard were soon caught in a sticky situation. Namely, on the one hand, Boa used her powers to petrify a solid number of Blackbeard’s crew members and a solid number of Marines. On the other hand, Koby managed to capture her and stop her from using her powers further. Finally, Blackbeard, although unharmed, did not have Boa in his grasp, and he was unable to take her Devil Fruit.

Koby wanted to kill Boa, but Boa said that if he did that, the petrifications would become permanent, which Blackbeard confirmed. Boa offered to depetrify everyone under the condition that Koby and Blackbeard left her island, and while Koby was willing to agree, Blackbeard stated that he did not trust her and that he would sacrifice his men to kill her. Koby was against it, but luckily for Boa, Silvers Rayleigh arrived in time and interrupted the fight.

Using nothing but persuasion, he managed to convince Koby to release Boa, Boa to depetrify everyone, and Blackbeard to give up on his plan. After that, Boa Hancock was safe, as Silvers came to save her from the attack while the attackers left. And while Koby and Blackbeard would soon continue their fight after leaving Boa, Boa was now safe for the time being, which was an important moment in the story and it confirms what we have said above about Boa and her fate.

Yes, she is alive at the moment, that much we can confirm, but she herself is aware that she is not safe anymore, so we can only hope that Oda decides to spare her, i.e., that Silvers Rayleigh and her other friends will be there if she ever ends up in a situation where she will, once again, need some assistance from them.
