Undead Unluck: Enjin’s Negator Ability, Unburn, Explained!
Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka, which has been ongoing since January 20, 2020, and has now been collected in 18 volumes as of the time of writing. The story is a supernatural adventure filled with humor, so you can imagine the series will be filled with ridiculous powers and abilities. These abilities are collectively called Negator Abilities; one such ability is the Unburn ability, whose user is Enjin. In this article, as you might have already deduced, we will discuss this Unburn ability, and you will find out everything you need to know about it.
Unburn is a powerful Negator ability in Undead Unluck
Undead Unluck fans are aware of the nature of the series. It is essentially a compilation of ludicrous scenes one after the other. While the general silliness of the plot and the somewhat dark comedy may appeal to diehard fans of such a style, Undead Unluck is primarily a fanservice festival with as much exaggeration as one can have without becoming kitsch. Within the world of Undead Unluck, some characters have specific abilities, called Negator abilities, which allow the user to negate certain natural laws or phenomena.
A terrible catastrophe strikes a Negator the moment they are born, either to them or to those who are important to them. It appears that a Negator’s talent does not actually vanish after they pass away because they are passed to a new individual.
Negators can be unaligned (although this is relatively rare), but they are, in most cases, members of one of the two groups – Union and Under – which gather Negators with a common goal who collaborate with each other on achieving these goals. The Unburn ability is currently aligned with Under, as its user, Enjin, is a member of the latter organization. We are now going to explain what Unburn actually does in the series.
What does Unburn do?
So, as we have said, Unburn is a Negator ability that was seen in Undead Unluck. At this moment, its user Enjin has only been mentioned in the anime, but he is going to make an appearance later in the series, as it happened in the manga; he debuted in Chapter 69 of the manga series. He is known as a skilled cook who cares deeply for his fellow Under members, and he is currently traveling the world with the goal of creating the perfect ramen, called “Bankararamen” in the series, for someone to enjoy.
Since he is a chef, it is somewhat befitting that his ability is related to fire and since Negator abilities negate certain laws and phenomena, we can deduce now that his ability negates fire. And that is what Unburn actually does. It is never a big mystery the effect of a Negator ability, as the name usually reveals everything you need to know, so when we talk about Unburn, we immediately know that this ability negates something that is burning or burning as a phenomenon in general. And that is the gist of it.
A more detailed analysis will reveal to us that Unburn has the ability to negate burning and even combustion, which means that the effect is expanded to include all reactions that might create fire, which is certainly beneficial in a variety of situations; plus, knowing that Enjin, the user of Unburn, is a cook, we can assume that his ability is quite helpful when dealing with kitchen fires.
Enjin has the ability to expand the effect of his ability to a certain area, which allows him to negate larger flames or combustions, and that certainly makes him powerful, although only when facing certain types of enemies or attacks. And that, actually, is all you need to know about Enjin’s special Unburn ability in Undead Unluck.
