Dr.STONE: Why Does Senku Want To Go to the Moon? Will He Do It?
As you probably know by now, we have covered the events of Dr.STONE‘s Treasure Island Arc quite well here on Fiction Horizon, and this article is going to cover an event that happened in the final moments of the arc, as the story was slowly transitioning towards the New America City Arc, which is the next arc that is going to be adapted in the anime. We know that Why-man imitated Senku’s voice and once again tried to petrify everyone, but he failed, and this signal helped Senku discover that the signal was coming from the Moon. So… Senku now wants to go to the Moon, but will he succeed? Keep reading to find out!
Senku wanted to go to the Moon to find Why-man
We know that Senku and his companions could enjoy some calm following the fights on Treasure Island, i.e., after Ibara’s defeat, because they were ready to repair the damaged Perseus and continue sailing across the ocean. But then something unusual happened. An unknown signal from a great distance appeared, and it attempted to remotely activate the Petrification Weapons. The attempt, thankfully, failed, but it was shocking in more ways than one.
After analyzing the signal, the heroes realized that it attempted to petrify the entire Earth once more, as the distance was reported to be Earth’s circumference (12,800,000 meters), and the time was stated to be one second. Senku and his comrades realized that the signal came from the Moon, which greatly aided them in determining the source; of course, getting to the Moon was a whole different matter, and it was a considerably more difficult effort, but that was their goal and from that moment on – Senku made it his goal to reach the Moon and you know how it is when Senku decides to do something: it happens!
How did Senku managed to reach the Moon?
Now, as we have said above, getting to the Moon was much more difficult than actually deciding to go to the Moon, especially with the state in which the world was in at that time. They were barely able to build a ship, and building a rocket-fueled vessel to travel to the Moon was impossible when the Treasure Island Arc ended, but that is why Senku and his allies went to America in the first place.
There, they would find not only the necessary resources and blueprints but also some allies who were willing to assist them, which led to the construction of several satellites, as well as rockets, which the Science Kingdom would later use to actually reach the Moon, just like humans did before the original petrification incident.
So, here’s your answer. Senku and his allies managed to get to the Moon thanks to the rockets they managed to build with the resources they gathered and with help from their new allies that they were going to unite with during the New America City and South America Arcs.
Who went to the Moon with Senku?
Before we end this article, there is one additional thing that interests us here, and that is – who went to the Moon? Now, we know that Senku did – he is the protagonist and the series’ resident genius, so it makes sense that he is going to the Moon – but who else?
Now, this might seem like an easy one, but the final crew was decided after numerous difficulties, and even then, there was another passenger there. So, initially, the astronauts were Senku, Kohaku, and Ryusui, but the latter suggested to Senku that they should revive a more suitable candidate, so Stanley was revived and soon replaced Ryusui in the team.
Despite initiating the change himself, Ryusi was quite sad that he was not chosen, and he ultimately hitched a ride unknowing to the others, so the four of them were the ones who finally ended up being on the Moon.
