Wladimir Klitschko Seeks Police Probe Into Hayden Panettiere’s Missing Jewelry
The sudden death of Hayden Panettiere in August stunned fans who grew up watching the former ‘Heroes’ star. She was 36, and her representative has said her death remains under investigation, asking for respect for her loved ones while that process continues.
In the weeks since, attention has turned to her daughter’s future. Panettiere’s ex-fiancé, retired boxer Wladimir Klitschko, already has sole custody of their 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, and he previously expressed the profound shock and grief they were both experiencing.
Now Klitschko is raising new concerns about Panettiere’s estate. In court documents obtained by TMZ, he claims he believes “a non-family member previously connected to Hayden” sold some of her belongings to a pawn shop, and that the items likely included jewelry.
The new claims are part of Klitschko’s ongoing effort to be named guardian of Kaya’s estate. Although he has sole custody, he needs that appointment to help manage her inheritance, since Kaya is Panettiere’s sole heir.
Klitschko is now asking the court to give him the power to request and authorize a law enforcement investigation into recovering the property. He believes the items may have been misappropriated, and he argues the losses directly affect what his daughter will inherit.
According to the filing, the pawn shop has declined to share specific details about the items without being contacted by police. Klitschko also expressed concern that the belongings could be sold before authorities are able to step in.
This isn’t the first time Klitschko has raised concerns. In his initial guardianship petition, filed last month, he claimed some of Panettiere’s jewelry was missing and unaccounted for.
He also alleged that some of her emails had been accessed and destroyed. Klitschko further said that before her death, Panettiere hired a security company to protect her Los Angeles home and its contents over concerns that someone had gained unauthorized access.
His legal team has stressed the urgency of the situation. The filing argues he needs to be appointed temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate quickly so he can file a probate petition and nominate an administrator for the estate.
Among the missing items is reportedly the engagement ring Klitschko gave Panettiere. According to Us Weekly, he proposed in 2015 with a ring featuring an emerald-cut center diamond and a split-shank setting, with an estimated value of around $500,000.
The couple dated on and off from 2009 to 2018. Kaya has lived with her father since he gained sole custody. The court has not yet ruled on Klitschko’s request. It also remains unclear who the “non-family member” mentioned in the filing is, as that person has not been publicly identified.
Panettiere’s representatives and Klitschko’s attorneys have not offered further public comment on the latest filing. For now, the case centers on protecting what Panettiere left behind for her daughter.
As the legal process unfolds, many fans are hoping for answers and for Kaya’s future to be safeguarded. The situation is a painful reminder of how complicated grief can become when legal and financial questions follow a sudden loss.
Do you think Wladimir Klitschko is right to seek an investigation into Hayden Panettiere’s missing jewelry?
