Netflix’s ‘The Trap’ Cast and Characters in the German Psychological Thriller (With Photos)

‘The Trap’ is a German miniseries adapted from Melanie Raabe’s novel, and it streams in full on Netflix on October 13. All six episodes are released together, so viewers can watch the whole story in one sitting.

The series comes from the team behind the International Emmy winning hit ‘Dear Child’, led by writer, director and creative producer Isabel Kleefeld. The ‘The Trap’ cast follows a bestselling author who hasn’t left her home in nearly ten years since witnessing her sister’s murder, and who sets out to trap the man she believes is the killer.

Friederike Becht

Friederike Becht stars as bestselling author Lisa Konrad. Lisa has not left her home for close to a decade, after her sister Anna was murdered.

Becht’s earlier credits include ‘Faster than Fear’, ‘Labyrinth of Lies’ and ‘Hannah Arendt’.

Hans Löw

Hans Löw plays the journalist Robert Lenzen. Lisa believes Lenzen is the man who killed her sister, and she invites him to her home for an interview as part of her plan.

Löw previously appeared in ‘Dear Child’, which makes him a returning face from the same creative team.

Matthias Brandt

Matthias Brandt plays the publisher Norbert Rudow. He is known for ‘Dark Woods’, and his character sits within the literary world that surrounds Lisa.

Anna Schudt

Anna Schudt plays Lisa’s literary agent, Pia. Her previous work includes ‘Das Boot’.

Miriam Ohlmeyer

Miriam Ohlmeyer plays Sophie, who is a character from within the novel. Ohlmeyer’s earlier credits include ‘Vexier’.

Josephine Thiesen

Josephine Thiesen plays Anna, Lisa’s sister. Thiesen has appeared in ‘The Empress’.

A separate young actress is credited for the younger version of Anna.

Malaya Stern Takeda

Malaya Stern Takeda plays Yuma, Lisa’s assistant. She previously appeared in ‘The Assessment’.

Ursula Strauss

Ursula Strauss plays the therapist Dr. Shelley Anger. She is one of several names added to the ensemble beyond the original casting announcements.

Michael Klammer

Michael Klammer plays the investigator Leon Weber. Klammer’s earlier work includes ‘Cassandra’.
