Alan Tudyk Reportedly Joins Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Cast — Here’s Our Top Theories on His Role
Gunn’s Superman is shaping up to be the most anticipated film for fans in 2025. Although Creature Commandos is set to premiere this December, both Gunn and Safran have emphasized that this Superman film marks the true beginning of the DCU.
Filming for the movie concluded about a month ago, and while it already boasts a substantial cast, additional names are reportedly expected to join soon.
According to sources at Deadline, Alan Tudyk has been cast in what seems to be a secret role for the film. Tudyk is already involved in the DCU, providing the voice for Dr. Phosphorus in Creature Commandos.
While his role remains under wraps and has not been officially confirmed, speculation is running high. The most likely option appears to be that he will portray Dr. Phosphorus.
Gunn has previously indicated that the cinematic universe will maintain continuity by having voice actors play their live-action counterparts. For instance, Frank Grillo voices Rick Flag Sr. and will reprise the role in Peacemaker Season 2 and Superman, as confirmed by set leaks.
Additionally, some members of Creature Commandos are set to appear in Superman, making it reasonable to think that Tudyk will simply reprise his role in a live-action format.
Another possibility is that Tudyk could be voicing Krypto the Super Dog, who is also confirmed to appear in the film. Lastly, there’s an older rumor suggesting that Plastic Man may receive a standalone movie in the DCU, leading fans to speculate that Tudyk could play that character.
The main cast of Superman includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Other notable roles feature Isabela Merced as the winged superhero Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as the inventor and superhero Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as the abrasive Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Nicholas Hoult as Superman’s nemesis, Lex Luthor.
The movie is set for release on May 11th, 2025. Have any thoughts to share? Let us know in the comments below!
