Beau DeMayo’s Lawyer Accuses Disney of Gaslighting Amid Serious Allegations, Hints at Legal Action

In recent days, Beau DeMayo has found himself at the center of media attention, and it’s not just because of his involvement with the highly-rated X-Men ’97 show. Earlier this year, DeMayo was fired as showrunner and head writer just weeks before the first season’s premiere.
While neither DeMayo nor the company initially commented on the reasons for his dismissal, his recent accusations against the company have now sparked widespread speculation.
Earlier this week, DeMayo accused Disney of stripping him of his season 2 writing credits because he shared a sexually suggestive drawing of Cyborg on social media. In response, the company stated that he was removed from all projects due to the severe findings of an internal investigation. Industry insiders have revealed allegations that DeMayo sent sexual photos to young staffers, groped assistants, and was emotionally and physically abusive to other staff members.
Bryan Freedman, a renowned attorney known for handling high-profile wrongful termination cases in Hollywood, is now representing DeMayo. Freedman has issued a statement to Deadline alleging that Disney is conducting a gaslighting campaign against his client and the public.
Having much experience with Disney, the playbook is always the same. Family friendly on the outside, but secretly attempting to plant illegal unconscionable items in contracts that silence the truth and stop the employee/customer from asserting basic constitutional rights. […] As we will explain through detailed examples which we will roll out in detail one by one, Disney’s model is very clear and a repetitive illegal pattern,” Freedman continued. “Once it gets challenged or exposed, the gaslighting and redirection of the blame toward anyone willing to tell the truth starts through an international well oiled publicity machine. […] Beau DeMayo wants nothing from Marvel/Disney except the truth. He will bravely tell the truth. So will I. Stand by.
DeMayo’s lawyer did not address or refute the rumors or the findings of the internal investigation in the statement, indicating that legal action could be forthcoming.
