It is also not a classic werewolf story that is connected with a legend, but a scientific experiment, which makes it a bit different than the usual ones. 

Valley of Shadows (2017)

What it’s about: Aslak is a 6-year-old boy who lives with his mother in a small village in Norway, between the sea and the mountains. After a strange event that neither Aslak nor his mother can understand and explain, he will embark on an adventure that will change his life. But is it his imagination or reality?

Why you should watch it: This is not a movie for everyone. Be careful when you decide to watch it since it might get a bit slow and boring, but if you get used to its pace and the fact that everything is seen from a child’s point of view, you will adjust to it and probably enjoy it. 

November (2017)

What it’s about: This movie is set in a pagan Estonian village full of werewolves and spirits but the biggest problem there is how to survive the cold and dark winter. Stealing is what keeps them alive but also becomes the biggest problem in the village since it makes them soulless and obsessed. In the middle of all this, there is a girl whose longing for a local boy turns her into a werewolf and makes her ready to die for love.

Why you should watch it: This is an extremely interesting and complex movie, shot in black and white which adds up to its haunting and disturbing atmosphere. It is a combination of European Christian and Estonian pagan mythology which makes it very compelling. It is original and unique and yet simple and strange at the same time. A must-watch!

Van Helsing (2004)

What it’s about: Hugh Jackman plays Van Helsing, the world’s most famous vampire hunter in this adventure fantasy thriller. He is sent with his ally Carl to Transylvania by the Vatican to stop the notorious Count Dracula. They will be joined by a gypsy princess called Anna Valerious who is determined to end her family’s curse by killing the vampire. 

Why you should watch it: Van Helsing is an interesting, action-packed tale full of adventure, with the always intriguing story related to Count Dracula and his adversaries. The characters are great, the casting is brilliant and it is a two-hour-long journey you will enjoy, especially if you are a fan of movies like The Mummy.

13 Hrs (Night Wolf, 2010)

What it’s about: Sarah Tyler returns to her troubled home in a remote English countryside after many years, completely unprepared for what awaits there. During a strong storm, Sarah, together with her family and friends remains cut off from the houses in the neighborhood and is up for the nightmare of her life. There is something lurking in the dark, dangerous and wild, and very difficult to run away from.

Why you should watch it: Don’t expect too much from this action horror but if you want an hour and a half of mystery and an interesting plot, it might be a good idea for a non-demanding weekend afternoon.

An American Werewolf in London (1981)

What it’s about: This is a true classic among movies about werewolves, a story of two American students who get attacked by a werewolf during their walking tour across Britain. His overprotectiveness becomes endangered when a human boy knocks on his door asking for a place to stay and falls in love with Mavis.

Why you should watch: Hotel Transylvania is a hilarious cartoon full of interesting and original characters, including some of the most beloved and famous monsters, such as the mummy, Frankenstein, and werewolves. Open Season: Scared Silly (2015)

Elliot will be the one who will try and help him get rid of his fear.

Why you should watch it: Even though this is not one of the most insightful and interesting cartoons there is, it is still a fun watch for the youngest who will definitely be amused by Elliot and his friends’ new adventures. 

Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)

What it’s about: In this sequel, Dracula has finally decided to open up his hotel to human guests. Everything is working out perfectly fine but Dracula is this time worried about his half-vampire, half-human grandson, Dennis. He is afraid Dennis isn’t showing any vampire signs so he decides to gather his friends to help him train Dennis into being a monster.

Why you should watch it: If you enjoyed the first part of this lovely animated movie, you will definitely love this one, too. Full of adventure, funny situations, and witty dialogues, it is, once again, a fun movie to watch with the whole family.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (2011)

But the circumstances don’t allow her and she is back where she was before moving. The biggest change in her life is a new man named Christopher who is a different kind of addict.

Why you should watch it: If you don’t have anything against slow-paced movies without a lot of action, this is a movie for you. It relies on some other qualities, such as a gloomy atmosphere, and good characterization. 

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012)

What it’s about: The final part of the Twilight Saga begins with Bella getting used to being a vampire. But the biggest problems will arise when someone suspects Edward and Bella’s daughter Renesmee is a vampire since it is forbidden for a child to be turned. They are all now under the watch of the Volturi and will have to do everything to convince them Renesmee is not a threat. 
Why you should watch it: If you enjoyed the previous four parts of this saga, you will probably enjoy this one, too. Full of action and suspense, it is a good closure to one of the most popular and beloved vampire and werewolf sagas of the past two decades.
