The news that Hugh Jackman will return in the upcoming Deadpool 3 has spread like fire all over social media. Ryan Reynolds has recently shared a video in which he revealed that Deadpool 3 will arrive on September 6, 2024! And one more, even bigger news, is that Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine in the upcoming movie.

The deal with Jackman for this movie has been made weeks ago, as the movie’s director Shawn Levy recently said:

“I want to take a minute to thank ‘Stranger Things’ for training me to keep my big mouth shut. This news has been burning a hole in my lips for weeks now.”Shawn Levy

Shawn Levy, who directed two movies with Ryan Reynolds — Free Guy, and The Adam Project — signed to direct Deadpool 3 last March. Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who worked on the first two Deadpool movies, are both set to return for the third one. Of course, they can bring anyone to this movie now, because they just made sure that this movie will be a gigantic box-office success thanks to Jackman’s return.

Jackman played the Wolverine for the first time in the 2000 X-Men movie, back when he wasn’t such a known actor. The role was his breakthrough and he reprised the role multiple times until 2017’s Logan, which marked the end of his journey as Wolverine, or so we thought.

If you still don’t believe it, you can check the announcement video that Reynolds has posted on his Twitter account down below:

Although he debuted as Wade Wilson in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds didn’t get to play a faithful incarnation of Deadpool until his own 2016 movie. Directed by Tim Miller, the first Deadpool movie was both a critical and commercial success, and the sequel, directed by David Leitch, followed in 2018. In 2019, Disney purchased Fox, which had the rights for X-Men characters, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four. President of Disney’s Marvel Studios Kevin Feige revealed that Deadpool 3 will eventually happen, and the movie will still be rated R (which is pretty controversial considering that Disney is known for its family-friendly content).

Deadpool 3, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is set to be released on September 6, 2024!
