Fans Declare Redemption for ‘The Acolyte’ as Finale Reactions Pour In: “Star Wars Is Back Everyone”

This week marks the final episode of ‘The Acolyte’ season 1. The show has sparked controversy since its premiere, receiving a wide range of reactions, from highly negative to highly positive, and some mixed.
Despite issues with pacing, acting, and dialogue, the show successfully wrapped up its storyline in a satisfying manner, while leaving enough material and plot threads for a potential second season.
In the final episode, Master Sol, Osha, Qimir, and Mae return to Brendok, where everything began. Sol is held accountable for his crimes, finally confessing to Osha that he was the one who murdered their mother, not Mae. In a surprising turn of events, Mae, who initially sought to kill Sol, decides against it, wanting him to face the consequences of his actions before the Jedi Council, the Senate, and the Republic.
However, upon learning that Sol lied to her for decades, Osha decides to kill Sol, bleeding her Kyber crystal in the process and completing her initiation into the Dark Side. Mae’s mind is wiped to prevent the Jedi from using her to track down Qimir and Osha. Ultimately, Osha is presented as Qimir’s acolyte.
Meanwhile, we get a glimpse of Republic politics as Vernestra Rwoh is confronted by Senator Rayencourt, who accuses the Jedi of being criminals with hidden agendas. He describes them as sociopaths destined to lose control and informs her that he has reported her for a lack of transparency regarding the events on Khofar.
By the end of the episode, Vernestra is compelled to tidy up the situation and address the chaos. She confesses everything that happened on Brendok 16 years ago but places the blame for the Khofar murders on Master Sol. She asserts that the culprit has been apprehended, stating that Sol seemingly committed suicide.
Pinning everything on Sol is a clever strategy since he can’t defend himself, and it’s a story the Senate can easily accept. Vernestra’s account closely aligns with Senator Rayencourt’s accusations, making it even more credible. Vernestra now has custody of Mae and plans to use her to track down her “former pupil turned to the dark side,” confirming that she trained Qimir while he was in the Jedi Order.
The episode features cameos from two significant figures: Darth Plagueis and Yoda, which most fans agree were the highlights—although, in my opinion, it’s unfortunate that these cameos overshadowed other elements.
Overall, reactions to the final episode have been largely positive. Let’s take a look at some of them.
