Guy vs. Kakashi: Who Would Win in a Fight?
During the entire Naruto anime, there were two Jonin that were quite skilled in the battle that even the Akatsuki feared as possible threats that should never be underestimated. Of course, both of them ended up having some of the best accomplishments any ninja could have in the world of Naruto. We are talking about rivals Guy and Kakashi, who happen to be really good friends with one another. So, in a fight between Guy and Kakashi, who would win?
This fight should be an even match if they both had their full capabilities unlocked. Guy, with the Eight Gates unlocked, was able to nearly kill a Ten Tails-empowered Madara. On the other hand, Kakashi had the full power of his Sharingan unlocked in the final battle against Kaguya and contributed to her defeat.
Of course, if Kakashi didn’t have the full power of the Sharingan that he borrowed from Obito, he wouldn’t even be a match for an Eight Gates-empowered Guy. Then again, there is a reason why Guy looks at Kakashi as his eternal rival, as they have sparred numerous times in the past with no true conclusive winner. So, with that said, let’s look at this fight in greater detail.
Physical Prowess
As an expert in taijutsu, Might Guy is known to have an incredibly strong body that can handle the rigors of using his body to its limits in any fight. He is known for being able to move swiftly in a fight and use his physical capabilities in a straight-up technical fight involving his fists and feet. His strikes are powerful enough that Itachi Uchiha warned the members of the Akatsuki not to underestimate him.

Kakashi was a genius ninja from the very beginning due to the fact that he has the Hatake bloodline, which is quite legendary in its own right. Of course, due to his skills, he was an effective fighter that could easily use his ninja training to move swiftly and efficiently in a fight. He doesn’t have the straight-up raw firepower that some other characters have, but he is incredibly efficient with his movements.
This can be a toss-up because Guy is supposedly superior in terms of his physical abilities. However, Kakashi is known for being a great physical beast as well, especially because he calculates his movements well enough to defeat his opponents in an efficient manner.

Ninjutsu
Guy was never known for being an expert in ninjutsu because he never focused on this area of being a ninja. However, he does know how to use ninjutsu, unlike Rock Lee, who isn’t really skilled in this department. During the events of the anime, she showcased his ability to use a basic summoning technique that allowed him to summon a tortoise that he was contracted with. As such, he can use ninjutsu but chooses to focus more on taijutsu.
Kakashi has always been a genius when it comes to using his skills as a ninja, as he is notable for the invention of the Lightning Blade, which he used in conjunction with the Sharingan that he inherited from Obito. Although he has a Sharingan, he isn’t suited to its use due to the fact that he isn’t an Uchiha. Then again, he used his Sharingan really well to develop it into a Mangekyo Sharingan, which manifested a completed body Susanoo during the final battle with Kaguya, thanks to the help of the spirit of Obito.

The fact that Kakashi was able to use his Sharingan to copy techniques in a hurry and develop his own techniques makes him the superior ninja in terms of his ninjutsu.

Taijutsu
Taijutsu has always been the specialty area of Might Guy, as he dedicated his entire life to mastering the art of fighting using his fists and feet. He is an expert in close combat situations, as he can easily overwhelm opponents with his combination of speed, power, and technique. In fact, he is capable of opening the Eight Gates, which are capable of pushing his body past its limit. After opening the Eight Gates, Guy’s Taijutsu allowed him to speed-blitz a Ten Tails-empowered Madara and nearly killed him.

Kakashi was never the best at using taijutsu, but he wasn’t a slouch in it as well. Back when he was an Anbu, he used his speed and technique to quickly sneak behind his opponents and attack them with precision moves. However, after that, he ended up becoming a straightforward style that could match Guy’s own style when the taijutsu expert wasn’t using his Eight Gates. As such, Kakashi is still good enough in taijutsu to match the strongest taijutsu expert.
While Kakashi can match base-form Guy’s Taijutsu, it’s an entirely different ball game when Guy opens the Eight Gates because he even made Madara, a very proud and powerful fighter, proclaim him as the strongest taijutsu fighter in existence.

Intelligence
While not entirely known for being intelligent, Guy possesses enough intelligence to allow him to survey the battlefield first and come up with useful strategies that are effective in a fight. He was never known for being a genius ninja, but his experience as a fighter has allowed him to use his brains effectively in a fight. As such, he knows a thing or two about using effective strategies despite the fact that he was never the smartest ninja.
There is a reason why Kakashi is known as a genius, as not a lot of ninjas have exceeded his intelligence. Only a few ninjas are smarter than Kakashi, both in terms of his knowledge and technical intelligence. As such, Kakashi is a great tactician that could find a way to win a fight he is involved in by making use of whatever resource he has. This has allowed him to bridge the gap between opponents that are supposedly stronger than him.

Kakashi is a genius, whereas Guy isn’t. While Guy is stronger in raw power, Kakashi is a lot smarter than him.

Feats
Guy had moderately impressive feats during the anime as he did indeed defeat a powerful Akatsuki called Kisame by opening the Sixth Gate. In that regard, his taijutsu alone was enough to defeat an Akatsuki member that other characters aren’t capable of defeating. On top of that, Guy also pummeled Madara to near death during their fight in the Fourth Ninja Great War. Madara, of course, was healing from his injuries due to the power of the Ten-Tails. So, if Madara wasn’t empowered by the Ten-Tails, Guy would have defeated him using his Eight Gates.Â
Kakashi’s skills were advanced enough that he was able to match some of the mid-tier Akatsuki members, including Hidan, Kakuzu, and Deidara. Of course, after he let go of the Ten-Tails, Obito fought Kakashi in the world of the Kamui and was defeated by his former teammate. Then, in the final battle, Obito’s spirit allowed Kakashi to use the full power of the Sharingan for the final time as he contributed to the defeat of Kaguya, who was sealed by both Naruto and Sasuke.
While Kakashi has had impressive wins during his time, he mostly won due to his plot immunity. However, Guy soundly defeated a powerful Akatsuki and even nearly defeated Ten Tails Madara, who was second only to Kaguya in terms of power.

Guy vs. Kakashi: Who Would Win In A Fight?
This battle is too close to call because both of these characters received power-ups and were also nerfed after the end of the Naruto series. Of course, if we’re talking about their peak states, they are both just as strong as one another. Guy had the use of his Eight Gates, which allowed him to nearly defeat Madara, while Kakashi had full use of Obito’s Sharingan, which allowed him to manifest a complete body Susanoo that assisted in the defeat of Kaguya, who was the strongest foe in the Naruto series. As such, this fight could go either way.
