The SIMs 4: Here’s How To Make Your SIM Younger
Aging is a natural part of Sim’s life, and soon rather than later, all Sims reach the end of their long ( or short) life span depending on your game settings. From baby to elder, your sims will naturally progress to the next life stage on their birthdays, and inevitably, the reaper will come for them. Quite literally, when it comes to Sims. Sometimes when we spend a lot of time playing with our favorite Sim, we get attached to it, and then, perhaps, we would like to unnaturally extend our Sim’s life or even reverse the aging. Luckily there are a few solutions to our problem. However, the majority of them involve the usage of cheats. Having said that, let’s clear up the basics first and see how to make your Sim younger in The Sims 4?
Can you age down your Sim or make it younger?
You can age down your Sim and make it younger, but this requires the usage of cheats as it’s not a mechanic accessible through the game normally. When you’re creating your Sim from scratch, you’re going to have the option to create either a baby, child, toddler, teen, young adult, adult, or elder. Each phase of Sim’s life has a set amount of days until the Sim progresses to the next phase of life.

In theory, if you manage to return to the CAS menu for that specific Sim, you can use the slider to set that Sim’s age once again, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do to age down our Sim. To age down Sim and make it younger, follow these steps:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + C to open the console in The Sims 4.
- Type “testingcheats true” and press enter.
- Type “cas.fulleditmode” and press enter.
- Now walk to the nearest mirror and select “change Sim.”
- You should be able to see the age slider in the upper left corner of the screen, and you’re able to set any age for your Sim.

As you can see, this was easy, and by using this cheat, you can potentially make your Sim immortal. However, this is not the only way to make your Sim live as long as possible.
Making your Sim immortal via the game’s settings
You can turn off aging for Sims in the game’s settings. This means that they will be “stuck” in the life stage they are currently in until you decide to age them up with a birthday cake, for example, or until you decide to enable them once again. To disable aging in Sims 4, follow these steps:
- Press “ESC” to reach the game menu.
- Go to “Game options.”
- Go to “Gameplay.”
- Navigate to the “Auto-Age” option and select “no” from the drop-down menu. You can do this for unplayed Sims as well.
This will freeze your Sim’s current age, but you can always age it up (or down) via birthday cake or cheats.

Making your Sim immortal by disabling death
You can make your Sim immortal by turning off death. It’s important to take into account, however, that this prevents only dying from old age, and if your Sims are stuck somewhere during a natural disaster or caught up in a house fire, they will unfortunately perish. To disable death in Sims 4, follow these steps:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + C to open the console
- Type “death.toggle false,” and press enter.
Once again, this will disable death, but only natural means of dying after your Sims has turned into an elder. It can still die from other unpredictable causes.
You can avoid dying in Sims 4 by drinking Reaper’s Friend scientific serum
If you have The Sims 4: Get to Work expansion, you can create so-called scientific serums during “scientific breakthroughs.” When you reach Career level 10 in science, you can create the “Reaper’s Friend” potion that will make the reaper resurrect your Sim upon dying instead of reaping it. The ingredients for Reaper’s Friend serum are hard to find, however, as you will need one death flow and one alien crystal to craft it.

You can make your Sim immortal by drinking Potion of Immortality
For those of you who own The Sims 4: Realm of Magic, you can use the Alchemy skill to craft powerful potions, and one of them is Potion of Immortality. Potion of Immortality. When you reach the rank of Master, you will be able to create the potion by combining Mandrake, Sage, Morcubus, and Diamond. The Potion of Immortality will prevent death from old age. However, this means that your Sim will be stuck in the “elder” stage for quite some time.

Can you slow down aging in Sims 4?
Like with other aging-down and making your Sim immortal, slowing down aging is possible as well. You can do it through game options or various potions, serums, and food as well. So let’s review how to slow down aging in Sims 4.
- You can slow down aging in Sims 4 by going to gameplay settings and choosing “long lifespan” from the drop-down menu when it comes to Sim’s lifespan settings.
- You can purchase the Potion of Youth with 1500 satisfaction points. Potion of Youth will reset your current Sim’s age to the start of that life stage. For example, if you are in your final days of being a young adult, Potion of Youth will reset that life stage.
- You can cook a mythical meal called Ambrosia. It has the same effect as the Potion of Youth in the sense that it can reset your current Sim’s life stage. To prepare Ambrosia, however, you will need to be level 10 in cooking and gourmet cooking. You will also need one death flower, one angelfish, and 1 Potion of Youth. Ambrosia can also be used to resurrect ghosts back to life.
- With the Get to Work expansion, your Sim can craft the “Age-Away” serum. The Age-Away serum will reset your Sim’s current lifespan. To craft Age-Away serum, you need to be scientific career level 10, and you need to have one quill fruit, two alien crystals, and one xenopetrium.
- With The Sims 4: Realm of Magic, you can craft the Fountain of Youth elixir. Fountain of Youth elixir will allow your Sim to return to days of Young Adulthood, and it’s the best deal out of all potions we’ve mentioned today. To craft the Fountain of Youth, you will need to be Alchemy level 9, and you need to have 1 Tanzanite, 1 Green Swallowtail Butterfly, and any mushroom.
And that would be all. As you can see, you can manipulate the Sims 4 mechanics in several ways, or you can simply go down the “old-fashioned route” of crafting and playing the game.
