How Much Chakra Does Boruto Have & How Does He Compare to Naruto?
In Naruto, chakra is the essential essence for the realization of any ninja technique. It is obtained by the mixture of two opposite energies, produced respectively by the body and the spirit. Through various processes, the most common of which is the composition of seals, the chakra can be manipulated and transformed in such a way as to obtain supernatural effects. Throughout the series, Naruto Uzumaki was known as the character with the maximum Chakra, but how does Boruto, as his son, compare to him? In this article, we are going to explore how much Chakra Boruto has and how he compares to Naruto in that aspect.
Being Naruto’s son, Boruto Uzumaki is one of the most potent Chakra users and has some of the highest chakra reserves in the whole series. As Naruto’s son, he inherited a powerful life-force and has proven himself to have enormous potential when chakra-related techniques are concerned. Still, as was confirmed in the series on multiple occasions, Naruto still has more chakra than Boruto.
The rest of this article will elaborate further on what we have said about Boruto’s chakra reserves. We are going to split the article into two sections, one detailing Boruto’s abilities related to his chakra, the other related to a brief comparison of his chakra levels in comparison to Naruto’s. The goal is to determine just how much Chakra Boruto has and how he compares to Naruto.
How much Chakra does Boruto have?
In order to fully understand how much chakra Boruto has, we have to list his chakra-related abilities, which are used as evidence for his chakra powers. Namely, there is no fixed scale using which one could measure the chakra levels of Naruto characters and that is why we have opted for such an approach in this article. Let us begin.
Descended from both of his powerful bloodlines, Boruto is a prodigy, considered capable of accomplishing anything he attempts in a remarkably short time. Having inherited his paternal grandfather’s genius and his father’s unpredictability, he achieved the highest mark in his class in the Genin Examinations, and is considered well above the rest of his generation with chunin-level prowess.
As a genin, Boruto is considered an elite who excels in all areas of combat. His prowess proved crucial in defeating formidable opponents including Momoshiki, Urashiki, and members of Kara. His potential is also seen as a threat to the ÅŒtsutsuki clan. Inheriting his father’s vast chakra reserves, Boruto is able to create four shadow clones even after having much of his chakra absorbed into himself. He also heavily inherited the power of the ÅŒtsutsuki, and because he possesses Byakugan user blood, he was able to communicate with the deceased spirit of Momoshiki ÅŒtsutsuki.
His chakra control is notably advanced, as he was able to perform one-handed mudra and effectively use the Rasengan after only a few days of training before instinctively refining and improving the technique. Boruto is particularly quick, able to quickly slip past his opponents without being noticed.
Boruto was shown to be quite skilled in taijutsu, able to mount relentless assaults through coordinated strikes from each of his limbs. As a descendant of the HyÅ«ga clan, he learned the basic use of the JÅ«ken, though without a Byakugan he could not target an enemy’s tenketsu. He also possesses considerable strength, capable of delivering strikes powerful enough to shatter the ground.
Before entering the Academy, Boruto could create several shadow clones, able to coordinate his attacks with his clones to put in difficulty a chûnin, or even a jônin. Initially, Boruto needed his clones to be within sight for them to work and could only create three. Later, he could create dozens of clones, regardless of their position.
Later, Boruto learned how to create a small Rasengan between two hands on the advice of Konohamaru Sarutobi and later increased it to normal size using only one hand. In the anime, he later learned to throw it like a projectile or even squeeze it for more power. When he went to the Ryūchi Cave, he signed a contract with Garaga, allowing him to summon the giant serpent whenever he wished.
Likewise, he also formed a kinship with snakes, able to befriend any snake to help him. He can also perform cooperative ninjutsu and fÅ«injutsu, able to use both to restrict a person’s movements and increase attack power alongside other users present alongside him. Boruto possesses some kenjutsu skills, as he effectively wielded a new Chakra Blade prototype and was able to effectively wield half of Hiramekarei.
He later showed proficiency in using a standard katana as his preferred method of combat. Through training with Sasuke, he became very skilled in shurikenjutsu, able to alter the trajectory of a weapon in midair and cover his shuriken with Raiton. Boruto can use several nature transformations, notably having Raiton as an affinity.
As an Academy student, Boruto could simultaneously perform Raiton and Futon for techniques like the Boruto Stream. As a genin, he learned to use Suiton, for techniques like Suiton – Himatsudan. Upon learning the Rasengan for the first time, he unconsciously infused Raiton (Fûton in the novel) chakra into it, a feat that even the most prodigious shinobi had been unable to accomplish.
When launching the technique, the nature transformation activates abruptly, making it invisible and encouraging the opponent to lower their guard and cause enough damage by coming into contact with the target. In the anime, after training under Kakashi, Boruto learned how to perform the Fûton – Swirling Orb using a shadow clone, only able to throw it as a projectile. However, his Futon – Swirling Orb is incomplete, lacking the power to do much more damage compared to the normal Swirling Orb, as Kakashi pointed out.
How does Boruto’s chakra compare to Naruto’s?
The debate here is whether Boruto has more chakra than Naruto, since he inherited both his and Hinata’s abilities. And while it cannot be denied that Boruto Uzumaki has exceptional chakra reserves and that he is, by all means, a better chakra user (or, at least, a more intelligent one with a better tactical understanding of that), it has been confirmed in-universe by the Otsutsuki that Naruto has the maximal chakra; Naruto’s chakra reserves are so large that they are practically immeasurable.
