Despite James Gunn frequently providing ambiguous details about the film’s progression, he was surprisingly direct in announcing the composer for the upcoming installment in Superman’s live-action journey.

James Gunn announced on his Instagram that John Murphy is confirmed as the composer for ‘Superman: Legacy.’ Gunn revealed that John was among the initial individuals he reached out to, emphasizing the significance of music in the forthcoming film.

ohn was one of the first people I called when I finished the script many months ago as I knew how incredibly important the score was to this production. John has been working tirelessly since, creating hours worth of music that we’ll play on set as we shoot & use in the edit & that will eventually be recorded with a glorious symphony for all of you. Welcome to the DCU, John!

Murphy and Gunn have a history of collaboration on various projects, with their most recent joint effort being ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.’ Murphy has gained recognition in the film industry through partnerships with directors like Guy Ritchie, Michael Mann, and Matthew Vaughn. His impressive portfolio includes contributions to films such as ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,’ ‘Miami Vice,’ and ‘Kick-Ass,’ as well as composing for Danny Boyle’s films. Notably, two of his instrumental tracks, ‘In the House – In a Heartbeat’ from ’28 Days Later’ and ‘Adagio in D Minor’ from ‘Sunshine,’ have enjoyed widespread use in TV shows, commercials, and film trailers.
