Solo Leveling is a South Korean novel series that has recently seen an anime adaptation. Arguably the most popular manhwa in the world, Solo Leveling is sure to attract a lot of attention, especially because the anime adaptation is truly great. While we’re enjoying the episodes, we have decided to talk about the series, and in this article, we are going to be covering some of the characters who appeared in the series. There are numerous relevant characters in Solo Leveling, and in this article, we are going to bring you a list of the ten main female characters from Solo Leveling. We are going to tell you a bit about them, as we rank them based on their importance for the series.
10. Han Song-Yi
She is an E-rank Hunter who decides to drop out of school following the gains made in the Dungeon Raids organized by Yoo-jin and Jinwoo. Even before meeting the protagonist, she is a great friend of his sister as she attends the same school as her. We decided to start this list with Han Song-Yi because she is undoubtedly an important figure in the series, but we couldn’t really give her a better position since she never got the chance to shine. Despite her low rank, she managed to survive the perils she was faced with and we think she is a good character to start with.
9. Akari Shimizu
Akari Shimizu is an S-Rank healer and a member of the Japanese Draw Sword Guild. With a playful and carefree character, she finds death at the hands of the Ant King during the Jeju raid. Although Akari’s fate is one of the more gruesome ones in the series, as the Ant King is one of the biggest villains in the series, we still decided to put her here because of that fact, which was one of the more impactful moments in the story, that showed us just how brutal the Beasts could be. This is especially sad because she was a Healer.
8. Mari Ishida
Mari Ishida is another Japanese Hunter on our list. She is an S-Rank Hunter and a member of Japan’s famous Draw Sword Guild. She was undoubtedly a powerful Hunter, and she participated in the Jeju Island Raid Party, which, sadly, cost her her life as it did that of her colleague, Akari Shimizu. She was ambushed and surprised by the Ant King, who was able to decapitate her quickly, which ultimately resulted in her dying. Thus, Kanae Tawata remained the only female surviving Hunter from that incident, which just proves how powerful the Ant King was as a villain.
7. Kanae Tawata
Kanae Tawata is a Japanese S-Rank Hunter of the Draw Sword Guild. A strong, muscular woman, she fights with a katana. He is a hothead who comments negatively on others when struck by fear or when things don’t go his way, such as his guild’s loss of power following the Jeju raid or their uselessness during the Dungeon Break in Japan, compared to Jinwoo and his shadows. She is one of Japan’s most formidable Hunters and due to her intriguing personality, which definitely makes her stand out, we have decided to rank her as we did on this list.
6. Yoo Soohyun
Yoo Soohyun is Jin-Ho’s cousin and Myung-Han’s niece. Mainly a model and actress, Soo-Hyun is also an A-rank Hutner, but she doesn’t seem to work in that field anymore. She was proposed by her cousin to Jinwoo to let her join the Ahjin Guild, as the latter needed at least three members to be made official. While she mostly had a role in the background, it cannot be denied that Soohyun is one of the most relevant female characters in the series, which is why we have given her this place on our list.
5. Park Heejin
There aren’t many female Hunters in Korea, which is why Park Heejin is so important and why we decided to list her here. She is a B-Rank Hunter from Korea and is best known for participating in the Red Gate Incident, where she proved to be very smart – she stuck with Jinwoo and did not rush into the Gate head-on, which saved her life. She is also a prominent member of the White Tiger Guild, which certainly gives a significant amount of additional importance to her as a character in the series.
4. Sung Jinah
Sung Jinah is Jinwoo’s younger sister and Kyung-Hye’s daughter. She is a very cheerful and friendly girl who has a very close relationship with her family; this is due to the fact that their father disappeared and, later, their mother felt ill, which is why she had to rely on Jinwoo. She herself doesn’t possess any powers but is aware of Jinwoo’s job as a Hunter and is an exceptionally important figure in his life. In fact, she is definitely someone he is willing to risk his life for, which is why she definitely is one of the most important female characters in the whole series.
3. Park Kyung-Hye
Park Kyung-Hye is the mother of Jinwoo and Jinah. She is portrayed as a very caring character who loves her children very much (especially due to the absence of their father), which is why they also love her. Still, as we find out early in the series, she was struck with the Eternal Slumber disease and has been in a coma for a while now. Jinwoo is later going to find a way to heal her, and we are also going to find out additional details about her that will show us why she is such an important character in the series.
2. Lee Joohee
She is a former B-Rank Hunter and Healer class who accompanied the protagonist inside the lowest-rank Gates. She is a very kind and caring girl, especially towards Jinwoo, whom she constantly worries about and with whom she gets angry for the constant injuries he gets. Despite being a B-Rank, due to too much fear, Joohee does not try to face portals higher than C-Rank. She found herself participating in the Double Dungeon, in which the protagonist achieved the Double Awakening, and in a mission in a Goblin-filled Dungeon; in both cases, she had a life-or-death experience that caused her to make the decision to abandon Hunter’s career and return to her hometown.
1. Cha Hae-In
The only woman present among the South Korean S-Ranks and a formidable swordsman. In the initial part of the story, she is the Deputy Leader of the “Hunters” guild, and she particularly despises the smell of all Hunters except the protagonist. Over time she develops feelings for Jinwoo, becoming embarrassed when she is in his company. The two of them will eventually become a couple. Despite this, Hae-In has proven herself as a powerful standalone character and is definitely worthy of the first spot on our list.
