Monte Island: Lost Ark Guide To Token, Quest & Rewards (With Images)
Lost Ark offers a broad selection of exciting adventures and activities for its players, many of which involve exploring Arkesia’s unique islands. Monte Island is a great location to gather helpful resources and even obtain special items, but many players can find the process slightly perplexing.
Monte Island is an Adventure Island, located northeast of Bern across the sea from Faten. It involves a co-op quest that requires players to search the island for chests, potentially granting the Monte Island Token as a reward upon completion.
It can feel complex to get to Monte Island and participate in its events to acquire such amazing rewards. But, getting there and taking advantage of everything Monte Island has to offer can be fairly straightforward with the right approaches.
What Is Monte Island In Lost Ark?
There are various fascinating islands scattered throughout the land of Arkesia, ranging from quaint little island hideaways to larger islands populated with villages and unique landscapes. However, Lost Ark also features some special islands that spawn from Arkesia’s vast oceans.
Monte Island is classified as an Adventure Island in Lost Ark, meaning that it involves an event and players can only participate in the island’s activities when it’s available. There’s plenty to see, do, and find on Monte Island, and players can walk away – or, sail away – with many handy items, useful rewards, and even unique collectibles.
How To Get To Monte Island In Lost Ark
Monte Island is located just northeast of Bern, across the ocean from Faten. The area will evolve into a giant whirlpool shortly before the island spawns. Monte Island’s location is as follows, thanks to GGRecon:
Players would have first needed to unlock the sailing ability in Lost Ark before they can travel via ship on Arkesia’s World Map. The sailing ability can be unlocked after completing the Set Sail quest, the final quest in the East Luterra storyline.
While this may seem like extra effort, players will need to complete this quest as part of the main questline. Since the main questline is essential for progressing to the endgame and is vital for unlocking powerful class skills and more awesome in-game activities, unlocking the sailing ability to visit Monte Island will be more of a bonus.
Monte Island Spawn Time
Monte Island spawns during set times on a partially randomized schedule, and it’s not guaranteed to spawn every single day. As a result, it can be tricky to catch this island event in time.
Players can keep an eye on Monte Island’s availability using their Procyon’s Compass – a tool that will display numerous scheduled events and dungeons. Follow these steps to make sure you catch the Monte Island event while it’s active:
- Select the compass icon under the minimap in the upper-left corner of the HUD to open Procyon’s Compass.
- Click on ‘Appearance Info’ for ‘Adventure Island’ from the activity tab menu.
- Set and in-game alarm in Lost Ark to track when the Monte Island event begins.
Lost Ark Monte Island Guide
Monte Island is home to a ton of exciting and fun activities for players, including a unique competitive co-op quest and the chance to obtain some lucrative or special Lost Ark items.
Monte Island Quest
A competitive co-op quest will start 3 minutes after players set foot on Monte Island. The quest will require players to search the island for chests. The chests are marked on the island’s map, but some are hidden inside tree trunks.
Each chest will reward players with points once they are opened, and the competition will end once there is a total of 5000 accumulated points between all participating players. Large chests will grant more points, usually over 10 points each, while smaller chests will be worth 10 points each.
Below is an outline of all the Monte Island chest locations, thanks to Papunika:
Secret Monte Island Chest Locations
There are also secret entrances around the Monte Island map, displayed in the above image as well, which contain additional chests that are not marked out. They are hidden in trees or tree trunks and can be accessed with the relevant entrances. These locations may not be necessary, but they can be useful as they generally reward players with more points on average.
Monte Island Quest Rewards
Completing the Monte Island quest will grant players with a Monte Island Join Reward/ Monte Island Participation Reward, a reward for participating in the Competitive Quest – regardless of ranking. This is an epic reward that can be used in the city, field, or on ordinary islands. However, it can also be used as a currency to gain other rewards on the island.
Below are the rankings and rewards for the Monte Island co-op quest:

Monte Island Token Guide
Players can obtain the Monte Island Token, otherwise known as an Island Heart, an item that proves the island has accepted the player. These tokens can be exchanged for some awesome rewards with Opher on the Lonely Island.
The Monte Island Token is a possible reward for completing the quest, as it may drop from the Monte Island Participation Reward chest. But, since there is no certainty, players may need to come back and repeat the process multiple times before receiving the Island Heart.
