New ‘Thunderbolts*’ Photos Hint at an Unrevealed Secret Team Member

Thunderbolts* is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling upcoming projects in the MCU. The film is set to feature a team reminiscent of DC’s Suicide Squad, consisting of former villains and anti-heroes who are likely taking a more positive direction in the Marvel universe.

Additionally, the movie will introduce Sentry, one of the most formidable characters in Marvel, portrayed by Lewis Pullman.

Based on the first trailer and the promotional images we’ve seen so far, it appears that we know most of the team members in Thunderbolts. David Harbour will reprise his role as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen returns as Ghost, Sebastian Stan is back as Bucky Barnes, and Wyatt Russell returns as John Walker, also known as U.S. Agent.

Olga Kurylenko will also return as Taskmaster, while Florence Pugh reprises her role as Yelena Belova, the new Black Widow in the MCU.

The team is expected to be led by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who has also been revealed as the new owner of Avengers Tower, which is likely to be transformed into Sentry’s Watchtower.

While the lineup seems complete, recent stills released alongside the trailer have led fans to speculate about a possible secret team member. This speculation arises from a particular photo showing a noticeable gap between Yelena and Bucky, suggesting that someone may have been photoshopped out of the scene.

Keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed, and the scene was likely designed to spotlight Red Guardian. However, there are several potential members of the Thunderbolts already within the MCU that haven’t been officially announced as part of the lineup.

Throughout the extensive history of the team in the comics, nearly 50 characters have been part of the roster, ranging from minor to significant figures. Some notable members from the comics who are also part of the MCU include Baron Zemo, Deadpool, Hawkeye, and The Punisher.

Deadpool can likely be ruled out since it’s too soon for him to appear in another MCU project, and The Punisher is probably out as well, given that he has yet to debut in the MCU following Daredevil: Born Again.

This leaves Baron Zemo and Hawkeye as potential recruits. Among lesser-known characters, we could possibly see America Chavez, Luke Cage, and Abomination.

Among all these names, there’s another character that technically isn’t part of the MCU yet fans would love to see again: Chloe Bennet’s Daisy, also known as Quake from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Daisy is introduced as a skilled hacker and a member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team. Initially, she goes by the alias “Skye” due to her mysterious and troubled upbringing.

As the series progresses, it is revealed that Daisy is an Inhuman, part of a group with superhuman abilities resulting from exposure to the Terrigen Mist. Her powers enable her to manipulate vibrations.

Depending on how involved S.H.I.E.L.D. will be with Thunderbolts, we might catch a glimpse of her. Most recently, Quake was rumored to join the MCU in Secret Invasion, but given how poorly the show performed, it’s probably for the best that the character wasn’t associated with that project.
