‘Power Book II: Ghost’: Who Is Obi? Does He Join Tariq in Season 4?
Noma turned Power Book II: Ghost into a real action thriller as she proved to be the most dangerous villain in the show, if not the entire Power franchise. However, her right-hand man Obi Okeke turned out to be the angel that Tariq St. Patrick needed so badly. Despite showing dislike for Tariq at first, Obi later realizes that Tariq is a gentler soul than his blood-thirsty boss. Having saved Tariq when all seemed lost, fans can’t help but wonder who Obi Okeke is and whether he will join Tariq.
Obi Okeke was introduced as Noma’s loyal right-hand man but didn’t always agree with her decisions. He was in charge of keeping a lookout on Tariq, Effie, and Cane’s loved ones to keep them loyal to Noma. However, Tariq realized that Obi didn’t agree with Noma’s high-handedness and decided to exploit his weaknesses to turn him against Noma. After helping him secure green cards for his family in Nigeria, Obi became indebted to Tariq.
On the surface, Obi puts on the mask of a ruthless killer, willing to execute Noma’s orders without question. However, it was revealed towards the end of the third season that he is gentle at heart and only stays loyal to Noma because the future of his family members in Nigeria depends on it. Having openly betrayed her boss by helping Tariq and Brayden, Obi seems ready to change loyalties, so let’s delve into how his relationship with Tariq will work.
Who plays Obi in Power Book II: Ghost?

Obi Okeke is played by the American actor Kyle Vincent Terry, famous for playing Headhunter in Gotham.
Born and raised in Chicago, Kyle started his career as a dancer and stage actor before earning his first TV role in Madam Secretary.
Despite being born and raised in the US, he perfectly captures Obi Okeke’s Nigerian accent in Ghost.
Kyle also managed to keep the hitman character warm and sometimes funny, which turned Obi into a likable character in the show despite being a villain.
His ability to portray the dangerous henchman when Noma first meets Tariq and Cane in the show was an unforgettable introduction for the character.
Kyle has also proved that he is able to grow into Obi Okeke’s transformation into a protagonist as he also captured the gentler version of the henchman.
His partnership with Caroline Chikezie, who plays Noma, brought about the most admirable antagonist partnership in the show.
There has been no announcement of Kyle departing the Ghost cast, so he will likely reprise the role of Obi in the fourth season.
Is Obi dead in Ghost Season 3?

Despite Brayden seeming to shoot one of Noma’s people toward the end of Divided We Stand (S03E10), there is no indication that it was Obi.
Obi was in a grey suit during the shootout, while the henchman that Brayden shot was in a black suit.
He also clearly knew about the impeding shootout because he warned Brayden, so he didn’t stay around to shoot at Tariq and Brayden.
Obi called Brayden before the shootout and warned him that Noma and Cane were planning to “clip” Tariq.
Brayden confirmed that Obi saved Tariq’s life as a repayment for his help in getting green cards for his family members.
Since Tariq used Tate Rashad to get the green cards, it is obvious that Tariq now knows Obi’s family members.
Obi is, therefore, just as Vulnerable to Tariq as Tariq is to Noma, which means Tariq can now use him as a point of weakness in Noma’s organization.
Will Obi Join Tariq in Ghost Season 4?

There is no confirmation from Starz about Obi changing his affiliations in the fourth season of Ghost, but it is likely.
Obi told Tariq that the only reason he worked for Noma was so that she would help him get his family safely out of Nigeria.
Since Tariq already did that for him, Obi has the freedom to choose whom to work for between Noma and Tariq.
He doesn’t like Noma because she is cold-hearted, as she proved when she killed Francesco Lombardi, even though she has a child with him.
Noma also punishes her employees harshly for the simplest of mistakes, like she cut Obi’s face just because of a slight disagreement.
Since Tariq has the names and possibly the location of Obi’s family members after getting them green cards, Obi is also vulnerable to Tariq.
However, Tariq will need an insider in Noma’s organization, and Obi could be the best person to offer it.
Obi will, therefore, likely become Tariq’s spy against Noma, Effie, and the Tejadas in the fourth season of Ghost.
With Obi on his side, Tariq will be able to discover more information about Noma’s operation and possibly the location of her daughter Anya.
Tariq can also use Obi to dismantle Cane’s alliance with Noma since it is obvious that Cane and the Tejadas can’t make money for Noma as Tariq did.
As for a partnership, Obi already proved that he likes Tariq and is willing to work with him because he betrayed Noma to save Tariq’s life in the third season.
