Aphrodite in Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok

Aphrodite is a goddess who made her first appearance in Chapter 1 of the Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok manga series (Episode 1 of the Record of Ragnarok anime series), and she is approximately 4000 years old at least. She has unknown origins, much like the other gods and goddesses in Record of Ragnarok, and she is affiliated with the Twelve Gods of Olympus.

Much like the figure of Aphrodite in the real world’s Greek mythology, Aphrodite in Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok is the Greek goddess of beauty, passion, love, pleasure, and procreation. As such, the majority of her most identifiable traits revolve around lust and physical attraction.

She is known to have a face of otherworldly beauty, flaunting blonde hair accessorized with numerous white and pink flowers. She is known to have a voluptuous figure, with a perfect hourglass silhouette accented by her extremely large breasts and wide hips – barely concealed by her traditional Greek clothing and drapes.

This goddess is never alone, as she is always accompanied by her golem-like manservants. These manservants act as her slaves, often taking the role of her chair – they go as far as to physically carry her breasts as well, and they can occasionally be seen debating about who gets to hold her.

In terms of her personality, Aphrodite is incredibly lustful overall – she openly appreciates the naked bodies of men and is very haughty in her attitude as well. However, she still seems to be quite a caring and wholesome individual at the same time, at least towards nature, as she is seen voting for the destruction of humanity after witnessing the increase in pollution, conflict, and animal cruelty.

Aphrodite’s Death in Record of Ragnarok (Theories)

She was originally sent to be present at the Gods’ Council around 4000 years prior to the events in Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok, as she was meant to help decide the fate of humanity. Aphrodite was against the idea of humanity, stating that Earth had become an ugly place over the past 1000 years and that humanity was the most dangerous thing living on Earth.

While humanity was spared, they did receive punishment for their behavior and dark deeds. Aphrodite laughed at Brunhilde for making more compassionate remarks about the humans, and Aphrodite suggested destroying the ancient Greek city of Thebes.

Fans started wondering if Aphrodite actually died, as she seemed to have suddenly gone missing as the storyline progressed. She was not really seen after the battle between Adam and Zeus, a detail that was hard to miss since she had been prominently featured throughout the earlier chapters, including when Poseidon and Heracles battled.
