What Do We Know About the Tokyo Revengers Characters’ Ages & Birthdays?
While the birthdays remain the same for all of the Tokyo Revengers characters, there are quite a few inconsistencies when it comes to the characters’ ages. The ages described above are the ‘present ages’ of every character within the Tokyo Revengers storyline, in the event that they all survived and are currently well within the universe’s present-day – which ends up around the year 2018.
Considering that time travel is a huge aspect within the entire Tokyo Revengers storyline, quite a few characters have different ages as the story progresses. On the other hand, there are also instances where certain characters may die in Tokyo Revengers within a certain timeline, only to be saved by Takemichi on a different timeline – after which they may die again due to a completely different cause, and so on.
A prime example here would be Mikey, the arguable villain, as Mikey has died multiple times throughout the entire saga. Another example would be Draken’s various deaths, in addition to many other characters who have also received multiple deaths.
Tokyo Revengers Characters’ Ages (Past)
When we jump back to the past in alongside Takemichi Hanagaki, fans are taken back to a time when Takemichi and others are still young teenagers. All of the characters are approximately 15 years younger when we see the events that transpire in Tokyo Revengers’s past (which takes place somewhere between 2005 and 2006 within the storyline).
Naoto Tachibana, Atsushi Sendo, Makoto Suzuki, Kazushi Yamagishi, Emma Sano, Tetta Kisaki, and Chifuyu Matsuno are all around 13 years old in the past of Tokyo Revengers. Takemichi Hanagaki, Hinata Tachibana, Keisuke Baji, Masataka Kiyomizu, Hakkai Shiba, and Takuya Yamamoto are all around 14 years old respectively.
Manjiro Sano, Ken Ryuguji, Takashi Mitsuya, Haruki Hayashida, Ryohei Hayashi, and Kazutora Hanemiya are all approximately 15 years old in the past. Other characters who are older than the Tokyo Revengers protagonists are equally older within the Tokyo Revengers universe’s past as well, such as Nahoya Kawata and Shuji Hanma who are 16 years old, Nobutaka Osanai who is 17 years old, as well as Izana Kurokawa and Yasuhiro Muto who are 18 years old.
Tokyo Revengers Characters’ Ages (Multiple Timelines vs. Alternate Timeline)
Of course, the numerous deaths in Tokyo Revengers can’t go without consideration when determining ages throughout the saga’s progression, as quite a few characters actually died at various points in the Tokyo Revengers storyline. This meant that they would have only lived to certain ages under specific conditions, but these ages would differ as they die under different circumstances within different timelines.
There is a major difference between the ages of the characters when comparing them in the past, present, and the Final Arc (which saw a ton of interesting events and twists). Below are the ages of some of the characters within the Final Arc – which is about midway between the Tokyo Revengers’ past and present.
Tokyo Revengers Character | Approximate Age (Final Arc) |
---|---|
Takemichi Hanagaki (Takemichy) | 16 years old |
Manjiro Sano (Mikey) | 17 years old |
Ken Ryuguji (Draken) | 17 years old |
Takashi Mitsuya | 17 years old |
Haruki Hayashida (Pah-Chin) | 18 years old |
Chifuyu Matsuno | 15 years old |
In most cases, the characters who need to be saved by Takemichi usually die during their teenage years, adding more motivation for Takemichi in his attempts to go back in time and save everyone from their grim, unfortunate fates. Spoiler alert, but the final jump back in time involves Takemichi time skipping alongside Mikey as well, which leads to the ultimate, alternate timeline that sees all of the characters alive, happy, and well – hence their similar “present day” ages despite countless character deaths.
