Naruto: Sasuke’s Rinnegan and Its Abilities Explained!

Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most important characters in the Naruto franchise. The antihero of the series, Sasuke, has been it all – the villain, the hero, and, finally, an antihero that beautifully complements Naruto’s heroic ideals. On top of that, Sasuke is also one of the strongest characters in the whole series. Sasuke’s Rinnegan skills were impressive

After receiving the power of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, Sasuke managed to awaken the Rinnegan in his left eye. This Rinnegan retained the tomoe of the Sharingan, having six; however, when much of the eye power was drained, the tomoe disappeared, and Sasuke could not use all of his power for a period. During the Fourth War, Sasuke did not have adequate mastery over this dōjutsu, having difficulty controlling it, which sometimes forced him to shut it down due to his inability to deactivate it.

Thanks to his Rinnegan, Sasuke was able to take Madara Uchiha’s black receptors without suffering the aftereffects. In addition, he also gained the ability to see targets that are not visible. Sasuke’s Rinnegan was also capable of nullifying the effects of the Infinite Tsukuyomi along with his Susanoo, which did not allow the Genjutsu rays to pass through it.

It should be noted that the Rinnegan was the only thing that allowed Sasuke to detect traces of Kaguya’s chakra. During his battle against Kaguya and the moments following it, Sasuke demonstrated that he could use the abilities of the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan with his Rinnegan, being able to perform the Amaterasu and, therefore, the Flame Release.

Furthermore, he also gained the ability to exchange his position with another position, although initially in a limited capacity. After completely mastering the technique, Sasuke could teleport to much greater distances, and he also demonstrated the ability to exchange objects without needing to fix them. Like the other dōjutsu users, Sasuke could access the powers of the Six Paths, demonstrating that he could use the Deva Path to seal the nine Tailed Beasts using the Chibaku Tensei individually.

In the anime, he was able to use the Banshō Ten’in, with which he was able to attract anything he desired. Likewise, the Uchiha demonstrated that he could use the Preta Path to absorb chakra with just physical contact. However, Kurama pointed out that he could not absorb and use a jutsu simultaneously. On the other hand, he learned to even cross dimensions, but only a fixed number of times before having to recharge his eye.

Using his Full Body – Susanoo, Sasuke was able to absorb, contain, and control the chakra of the nine Tailed Beasts, in the same way he could make the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. This caused his Susanoo to transform, acquiring a new form, losing the wings and parts covered with an interior full of Sasuke’s chakra, manifesting as a human formed from Lightning Element, lightning protruding from his back, something that according to Kurama, resembled the power of Hagoromo.

In this form called Susanoo Indra, he was shown to be very agile and have a lot of strength, being able to hit strongly and block Naruto’s attacks along with several shadow clones while they were in their Tailed Beast Mode, also the ability to shoot giant sebon made of rays that were capable of countering several Tailed Beast Balls enhanced with Senjutsu. On top of all that, he could transform his sword into a bow and be able to shoot a giant lightning arrow, which, according to Sasuke himself, was his most powerful attack since it was able to counter both attacks.
