Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most important characters in the whole Naruto franchise. The antihero of the series, Sasuke, has been it all – the villain, the hero, and, finally, an antihero that beautifully complements Naruto’s heroic ideals. On top of that, Sasuke is also one of the strongest characters in the whole series. Many of his powers and abilities stem from the fact that he could use the Rinnegan, but he lost it in Boruto after being stabbed by Momoshiki, who possessed Boruto at the time. Sasuke is significantly weaker without his primary technique, but he is still a powerful character with lots of powers, including Susanoo, which is one of the powers that Sasuke retained even after losing his Rinnegan.
Sasuke’s Susanoo was shown to have six different forms, each somewhat different and more powerful than the other. In this article, we are going to talk about these six forms and are going to rank them based on their strengths; this was a relatively easy ranking for us because the forms’ powers have grown with each new form, so the first form is the weakest and the final one is the strongest. We will provide you with some information about Sasuke’s Susanoo and the six individual forms.
6. Skeletal Susanoo
When Sasuke was first seen using the Susanoo, he could only manifest his ribcage. Although useful as a defense, the Fourth Raikage proved capable of destroying the ribs and even attacking Sasuke directly though it cost him his left arm, the Fifth Mizukage also managed to melt the bones with her Vapor Release: Corrosive Mist Jutsu. In his battle with the Raikage and his allies, Sasuke further developed the Susanoo, now as a skeleton with some large muscles on it, more fully enveloping it, including horns and two hands. At this stage, the Susanoo can use its fists or a chakra blade to attack but can still act as Sasuke’s defense.
The skeletal form of Susanoo was somewhat basic in many aspects, but that that point in the story, it provided Sasuke with a powerful upgrade. It also looked quite intriguing if you like a more macabre aesthetic. It wasn’t as powerful as the other forms, but it was enough at the time, and that is why we placed it in sixth place.
5. Humanoid Susanoo
During his fight with Danzō Shimura, Sasuke could complete the Susanoo, giving him the appearance of a demon and humanoid appearance with a bow as a weapon. In this form, the Susanoo can also produce chakra arrows from an orb in its right hand, which it shoots from a second right arm and, once fired from the bow, reach such a high speed that they reduce the enemy’s field of vision to zero, making it practically impossible for them to dodge them. Arrows can also be used as a makeshift melee weapon. He can even create a chakra shield capable of withstanding devastating high-powered attacks without issue.
The humanoid form of Susanoo was significantly more powerful than the skeletal form and showed that Sasuke was slowly mastering this powerful technique as it finally started getting some shape. The humanoid form of Susanoo was a significant boost, but it still wasn’t strong enough to earn a better place than number five, despite several quite serious upgrades.
4. Armoured Susanoo
In the fight against Kakashi Hatake and driven by hatred, Sasuke completed the Susanoo with an armored cloak equal to Itachi’s, but of a lilac color, in which he possesses sharp teeth around his hood (unlike Itachi’s, which have straight teeth) and Magatama earrings. The orb in his third hand changed to black, while the bow in his left hand also got a different shape. This stage was only seen briefly, as Sasuke’s deteriorating eyesight caused him to black out.
Intense hateful emotions characterize the development of Sasuke’s Susanoo. Whenever his feelings are hurt by the words or actions of his opponents, his Susanoo grows in power. His Susanoo is consequently, as Karin points out, much darker in both appearance and composition compared to Itachi’s Susanoo. He also notes how Sasuke’s chakra had become “darker and colder” than even when he used the dark chakra provided by the level 2 Cursed Seal implanted in him by Orochimaru when he was twelve.
Armoured Susanoo was something else. It retained the stability and the boost of its previous form, but it was now infused with his negative emotions, which acted both as symbolic and literal armor around Susanoo and Sasuke. You can understand how the Susanoo’s defensive capabilities would benefit from such a thing, but it wasn’t just that, as the whole manifestation became much more powerful in almost every way imaginable, which is why this was definitely a milestone upgrade for Sasuke, as far as the Susanoo is concerned.
3. Armoured Susanoo (Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan version)
After gaining his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, the second layer of Sasuke’s Susanoo’s armor changes in appearance and appears to be lighter in current composition compared to previous versions of him. The armor’s mouth changes to that of a long beak and giving it a bird-like appearance. He also has four arms like Madara’s Susanoo. The skin on the right arm resembling shells from the hands that come out of the armor itself looks more terrible in this form. One of his right hands is capable of creating a sphere made of Amaterasu’s flames, from which he can form arrows strong enough to pierce White Zetsu and set him on fire in these flames, in addition, he can also launch magatama projectiles of black flames to attack multiple opponents at once.
Everything we’ve said about Armoured Susanoo can be repeated here, but with an added Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, which made this transformation significantly more powerful, which is why it earned a place in the top three forms of Susanoo. The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan-powered Armoured Susanoo increased the manifestations of defensive and offensive capabilities, which is why Susanoo became so formidable at this stage.
2. Complete Body — Susanoo
After gaining the power of the Sage of the Six Paths and obtaining the Rinnegan, Sasuke manages to perfect his Susanoo and stabilize it, which takes on an appearance similar to that of Madara with a complete body except that it gains wings on its back that it uses to fly. The face takes the appearance of a Yamabushi Tengu with four horns, a large pointed nose, several piercings along its mouth, and a circular one below. Sasuke is positioned in a pentagon right on Susanoo’s forehead. The wavy blades become two katanas that he holds in his arms, whose power is enough to cut a Chibaku Tensei of Madara to pieces in an instant.
Despite his large size, he can quickly and deftly jump through the air through numerous debris. Also, his Susanoo, thanks to his Rinnegan, obtained the ability that, when used to cover himself, he does not let any type of light pass through his Chakra, no matter how strong it is, as he demonstrated by blocking the light emitted by the Moon after it was projected. On the other hand, he has also shown to be able to channel Chidori through his Susanoo’s left hand and use it for a close attack.
And while all the previous forms were powerful and relevant, the Complete Body form was actually the gist of Susanoo as a technique. Imitating Madara’s Susanoo, Sasuke finally stabilized his Susanoo with this form, making it an enormously powerful tool and weapon in all future fights. This is Susanoo’s ultimate form, but it is second only because another special form was revealed later.
1. Indra Susanoo
During his last fight against Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke could absorb the Tailed Beasts’ chakra and use his Susanoo as a vessel, similar to the Outer Path Demon Statue. This produced the formation of a gigantic chakra humanoid, from which lightning bolts protrude from his back and is covered by Sasuke’s Complete Body — Susanoo, which is called Susanoo Indra. With this, Sasuke can create bows and swords infused with Lightning Release. The speed of his Susanoo was increased, with him being able to surprise Naruto in Sage of Six Paths Mode and having enough strength to send a clone of the Tailed Beast Mode Uzumaki to the ground with a single hit.
Also, he has the strength and stamina to survive the resulting explosion and generate electrical senbon powerful enough to destroy three Tailed Beast Balls. Last but not least, he can create a bow and charge an electric arrow with incredible strength, which he can block using Naruto’s two strongest moves and a significant quantity of Senjutsu.
Ultimately, Indra Susanoo is undoubtedly the strongest form of Sasuke’s Susanoo. While it is an anomaly in the sense that it is an additional step in the evolution of the techniques that is not regular, it still made Sasuke an enormously powerful fighter. That is why it absolutely deserved the first place on this list.
