Lost Ark is available on Steam for PC gamers in NA and EU regions, provided that players have the minimum PC requirements. This is the only way to play Lost Ark at the moment. But, Smilegate has shown signs of having undertaken the development of Lost Ark Mobile, and Lost Ark may be released on console platforms in the future.

With so many exciting activities and adventures awaiting Lost Ark players, it’s understandable that anyone would want to start playing as soon as possible. Join us as we discuss what platforms Lost Ark is available on and outline the potential for its release on other gaming platforms.

But, for some people, gaining access to Lost Ark is simply impossible. The game was only released for players in specific locations, and, as a result, players located in other regions of the world may not be able to play the game.

How To Play Lost Ark On Steam In Blocked Countries

The only known way to bypass this block is to use a VPN, or perhaps have a new Steam account created by someone in an unblocked region. But, there will still be the risk of potential issues later down the line, most of which may be related to your location and the existing servers’ capabilities.

Future Lost Ark Gaming Platforms

Although some gamers swear by PC gaming, many people just don’t like the feel of it – or perhaps considering PC requirements for each game isn’t always possible. Regardless of the reason, many Western gamers have been wondering if Lost Ark will be released on other gaming platforms in the future.

Will Lost Ark Be On Console? (PlayStation and Xbox)

Many gamers have been desperate to know if Lost Ark will become available on console platforms, as there are countless PS and Xbox fans worldwide. The desire for such a platform availability is understandable, but it’s crucial to point out that making an online PC game available on console platforms is not that simple.

Smilegate would require dedicated servers to run the game and integrate online functions with both Xbox and PlayStation. This port will take a ton of extra work, and since the game has been doing well on PC so far, the odds of this occurring are low – at least within the foreseeable future.

Lost Ark has been around for quite a few years, and has been loved in Korea since its initial release. Like the release in Western regions, the original Lost Ark was made available on PC, and it has not seen a move to console in that region.

If this is the example to go by, then the odds of Lost Ark coming to console are quite slim. However, Smilegate’s other big release, CrossfireX, was designed for Xbox One and Xbox Series, and Final Assault was also released on PC and PS4 in 2019.

This means that the studio does have the means to support platforms outside of PC. So, technically speaking, the Lost Ark game devs may be able to give console gamers what they’re hoping for in the future.

But, the game developers have not made an official statement regarding future console availabilities for Lost Ark, and players may never get an official answer to this question.

Can You Play Lost Ark With Console Controllers?

Apart from anti-PC gamers and players who lack the PC specs to play Lost Ark, one of the biggest reasons for players asking about the future support of console platforms involves the use of controllers. Consoles have quite a few unique traits concerning the overall gaming experience, but the controllers are undeniably at the top of the pros list.

While Lost Ark may not be available on console (and may never be, realistically speaking) it may be possible to play Lost Ark on PC using a PlayStation or Xbox controller. Quite a large portion of the gaming community would find such a shift extremely useful, as it can make the entire gameplay experience far more comfortable for console players.

Lost Ark supports Xbox and PlayStation controllers, specifically the PS4, PS5, Xbox One series, and Series X/S controllers. But, other PlayStation and Xbox controllers may work as well. Follow these steps to set up your console controller in Lost Ark:

  1. Plugin your controller, as this can work instantly. If it doesn’t work, continue with manual settings.
  2. Open Up the ‘Settings menu’.
  3. Navigate to the ‘Gamepad’ Interface.
  4. Tick the ‘Use Gamepad’ box.

The controller should work after this point, but Steam settings can also affect functionality. Head over to Steam and follow these steps to get your controller working in Lost Ark:

  1. Open up ‘Steam Settings’.
  2. Click on the ‘Controller’ tab.
  3. Click on the ‘General Controller Settings’ option.
  4. Ensure that the controller configuration lines up with whatever controller you are using.

Will Lost Ark Be On Nintendo Switch?

The odds of Lost Ark being made available on Nintendo Switch are quite low. Although, Smilegate’s potential to support consoles and platforms outside of PC does leave room for speculation, as it does indicate that the studio is opening up to new platforms.

However, there may not be as much of a need for porting Lost Ark to Nintendo Switch entirely. This is since the game developers have taken the liberty of ensuring that Lost Ark supports the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

The Nintendo controller will need to be plugged into your PC with Lost Ark running, and it may automatically sync and start working. If it does not work, you will need to follow the same configuration steps as needed for PS and Xbox controllers – either within Lost Ark‘s in-game settings or on Steam.

Will Lost Ark Be On Mobile?

Mobile games have been steadily gaining popularity over the past few years, offering a ton of convenience matched with portable and pocket-sized on-the-go fun. While console gamers may be left with more questions than answers, mobile gamers may have something epic to look forward to!

Players could expect to see a mobile version of Lost Ark at some point in the future, as Smilegate had made posts hiring new talent to work on Lost Ark Mobile. According to reports from the Korean media:

“Smilegate RPG ramps up on the development of Lost Ark Mobile using Unreal Engine 4.”

While there are tons of console and mobile gamers worldwide, Lost Ark has been played on PC in Korea for years without being released on other platforms in that region. Still, there is the possibility of Lost Ark being released on other gaming platforms in the future, and, for now, players may be able to enjoy the best of both worlds by using console controllers instead of keyboards.
