It is worthy to note that the Hoarfrost Stomp skill is one of the easiest Ashes of War that you can acquire because it doesn’t take much effort to do so. You can even acquire it early in the game so that you can make things easier on your part. As such, if you want to improve your weapons early on in Elden Ring, you may want to try to look for the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War.

Where To Get Hoarfrost Stomp Skill In Elden Ring?

Elden Ring continues the FromSoftware tradition of developing games that are going to be quite challenging to the point that players would have to work their way through the game to find ways to defeat opponents that are a bit too challenging for them. The challenge and the grind are where Elden Ring truly shines because of how the game forces players to really get good.

In that regard, some of the things that will allow a player to make things a tad easier in Elden Ring aisAshes of War. An Ash of War is basically a skill that you can imbue in a regular weapon in Elden Ring so that you can take advantage of the special ability that comes with that Ash of War. Of course, there are plenty of different Ashes of War that have their own advantages, depending on the playstyle of the player.

One such Ash of War that tends to be good for most types of Elden Ring players regardless of playstyle and build is the Hoarfrost Stomp. This is one of the best Ashes of War in Elden Ring because of how powerful it is when used properly. Where can you get the Hoarfrost Stomp skill in Elden Ring?

The good news is that the Hoarfrost Stomp is a fairly easy Ash of War to acquire, as most players will realize that you can get it as soon as you acquire your horse in the game. This is why the Hoarfrost Stomp has become a favorite for many different players that know where to find it, as they can easily breeze through the earlier parts of the game using this skill.

You can find the Hoarfrost Stomp near the northernmost area of Liurnia of the Lakes, which is the area that can be found west of Limgrave, which is the starting region of Elden Ring. Once you get your horse, all you need to do is to make your way all the way to the northwest area of Liurnia of the Lakes until you find the Caria Manor. But don’t enter the manor because that will be full of strong enemies that you may not be strong enough to defeat.

Instead, you can look for a shallow pond just southeast of Caria Manor. That is where the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War will be. However, there’s still more to that because there’s something that you need to do first.

How To Get Hoarfrost Stomp Skill?

As mentioned, the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War is very easy to get as long as you know how to get it. But it can be elusive to a lot of different players who actually don’t know where to get it or don’t even know that this Ash of War actually exists. And that’s because it is one of the hidden Ashes of War in the entire game.

The reason why it is hidden is that it is held by an invisible Teardrop Scarab. These are insects that you see rolling around the map. Killing a Teardrop Scarab will more than likely reward you with an Ash of War.

But the thing about the Teardrop Scarab that holds the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War is that it is invisible. This is why plenty of players tend to miss out on it, as they can’t even see it at all. So, in that regard, what you should do is to carefully spot it on the map by looking for the footprints of the Teardrop Scarab.

You should be able to see the trail of footsteps in the water in the shallow pond. Follow the footsteps and then attack indiscriminately to hopefully hit the Teardrop Scarab. A weapon with a greater reach should be able to help you out here if you are attacking indiscriminately.

Killing the Teardrop Scarab will reward you the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War. Go back to the blacksmith over at the Roundtable Hold to use this Ash of War on your weapon of choice so that you can acquire the Hoarfrost Stomp skill.

What Can Hoarfrost Stomp Skill Be Used On?

Before you get too excited about acquiring the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War, it is important to note that you cannot use this on special weapons that you can acquire from boss monsters or on the weapons that require you to use Somber Smithing Stones.

The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War, like any other Ash of War, can only be used on regular weapons that require regular Smithing Stones. This is why it is important to keep a normal weapon in handy, especially if you prefer to use special weapons, because of the fact that the Hoarfrost Stomp will allow you to have a great secondary weapon to use.

If you have a great special weapon that serves as your primary weapon (such as the Moonveil or the Sword of Night and Flame), you can use that weapon as your primary. Meanwhile, you can equip the weapon with the Hoarfrost Stomp as a secondary weapon in your right hand. All you need to do is to switch between the weapons, depending on what the situation calls for.

Is It The Best Ash Of War Skill In Elden Ring?

The thing that you need to know about Elden Ring is that the different Ashes of War are made for specific purposes that fit the playstyle of the character involved. In that regard, it is tough to say whether or not the Hoarfrost Stomp is the best skill in the entire game, but it is quite close to the top.

What makes the Hoarfrost Stomp so great is the fact that it activates quickly and is capable of covering a wide area in front of the player. This essentially allows the player to create ice spikes that will come out of the ground in front of where the player stomps. The ice will damage any opponent that is within the area covered and will build frostbite.

In that regard, the Hoarfrost Stomp is great when it comes to crowd control because it allows you to easily stop the enemies in their tracks as they advance towards you. This will allow you to have greater freedom to mount a counterattack or to buy some time to heal.

However, in most cases, people tend to spam Hoarfrost Stomp, especially when it comes to multiple opponents or in boss fights that involve multiple bosses. Upon stopping the opponent in its tracks using the Hoarfrost Stomp, that is when you might want to switch over to your other weapon to use its skill or to deal massive damage to your opponents.

This means that this skill is quite useful at preventing opponents from getting too close to you whenever they are on the offensive. However, it isn’t necessarily the best Ash of War skill when it comes to pure offense because it doesn’t have the best damage output. But what makes it great is that almost every build in the game can benefit from the Hoarfrost Stomp’s abilities.
