Last year’s San Diego Comic-Con was a subdued event for the MCU, largely due to the SAG-AFTRA strike preventing actors and writers from promoting their movies.

Recently, Marvel Studios confirmed their return to Hall H. While the exact lineup remains a mystery, speculation points to ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ as a major focus, especially with the film premiering that same weekend. Rumors also suggest we may get glimpses of ‘Thunderbolts,’ ‘Wonder Man,’ and updates on ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’

However, as is tradition, SDCC also serves as a platform to unveil new projects in development. Despite Bob Iger’s announcement about reducing MCU’s creative output, rumors persist about several undisclosed projects currently in the works. Here’s what we’re eagerly anticipating.

1. Scarlet Witch solo movie

Several characters closely tied to Scarlet Witch are receiving their own standalone projects. We eagerly await the premiere of ‘Agatha All Along,’ updates on ‘Vision Quest’ centered on White Vision, and news of a live-action ‘Wonder Man’ project in development.

Considering these developments, one can’t help but speculate if they are leading up to Scarlet Witch’s return to the MCU spotlight. Recent rumors suggest a series focused on Wiccan, which could pave the way for a potential Scarlet Witch movie exploring the Children’s Crusade storyline. This speculation gains traction, especially with Joe Locke set to debut as Billy Kaplan in the MCU.

2. Midnight Sons movie

‘Blade’ is currently facing significant production challenges. Meanwhile, rumors continue to swirl around a potential project centered on Midnight Sons. A few months ago, reports indicated that Fede Alvarez was being considered to direct the film. Midnight Sons would feature characters who have never been part of ‘The Avengers,’ and supposedly, Doctor Strange would not be among them.

3. Young Avengers movie

While the studio has not officially confirmed a ‘Young Avengers’ movie, the persistent rumors are hard to overlook, especially given the developments in ‘The Marvels’ and the continuous introduction of young heroes into the universe.

An official announcement of the project, along with hints about the lineup, would greatly fuel anticipation and excitement for this potential movie.

4. Doctor Strange 3

Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms 'Avengers 5' Is Filming Next Year, Dr. Strange Will Return

With multiple projects unfolding in the Multiverse saga, Doctor Strange’s notable absence is concerning, with reports suggesting Wong might take precedence. Rumors even hint that Doctor Strange’s next solo movie isn’t in the works, though fans remain hopeful these reports are inaccurate. Given Strange’s pivotal role in potentially combating the next Multiversal threat (unless the studio has shifted focus from Kang), his continued involvement seems essential.

5. World War Hulk

This project is probably the least likely to be announced, and it holds the record for the longest-rumored “in development,” now entering its tenth year. Yet, sometimes hope persists.

While it’s unlikely the movie will be unveiled, especially given recent comments from Ruffalo, Marvel has been laying the groundwork for a World War Hulk storyline. With Red Hulk confirmed for ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ anything is possible.
