Jujutsu Kaisen is known for its powerful characters and its brilliant fights, some of which are among the best animated in the history of anime. The second season is currently being aired after the first one premiered a while ago, and the prequel movie became a great success, and while we’re waiting for that, we have decided to compare two extremely powerful characters from the series, both of them powerful villains. One of them is Toji Fushiguro, the main villain of Gojo’s Past Arc, who was able to beat Gojo despite not having any powers himself, while the other is the series’ big baddie, Sukuna. In this article, you are going to find out who would win in a fight between the two.

Sukuna would undoubtedly defeat Toji Fushiguro in a direct fight. And while we cannot deny that Toji Fusihguro is powerful – he did defeat both Gojo and Geto – he is not on Sukuna’s level. He couldn’t even fight Sukuna properly because Sukuna would quickly get rid of him with his cursed techniques, which would be simply too powerful for Toji to counter. The true extent of Sukuna’s powers is seen in his battle against Gojo, and while Toji did win against Gojo, he only did it because Gojo was not at the peak of his abilities back then.

Now that you have the short version of the answer, we are going to provide you with a detailed category-by-category analysis of the issue, presenting the characters in questions to you and giving you a point-by-point analysis that is going to help you understand why Sukuna would be able to beat Toji Fushiguro without putting too much effort into that fight.

Overall skills

Toji was one of the most powerful fighters in the history of jujutsu, even though he is technically a non-jujutsu sorcerer with an intrinsic aptitude for the occult and simply devoid of cursed energy. Toji battled some of the fiercest and most powerful sorcerers of his era with intrinsic physical abilities much above average.

Even S-class sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo claimed to be a real Superman. Toji easily won against the then-young Satoru, who was already among the most potent sorcerers in the world at the time, and Suguru Geto, a powerful curse user. Additionally, he defeated Dagon, an S-class curse, in his own Domain Expansion.

Sukuna is a cursed spirit of the S-class. Sukuna, who is regarded as the undisputed King of Curses, is incredibly strong and powerful. When he awoke in Shibuya, his presence almost paralyzed his opponents. Even Satoru acknowledged Sukuna’s power, saying it would be challenging to win against him. Sukuna has established itself as by far the most powerful curse ever with each appearance. Even among the S classes, very few people can match Sukuna’s strength; Satoru is one of the few who can (as far as we are aware) claim victory over him.

Regardless of how you put it, Sukuna is miles above Toji Fushiguro and clearly wins this one. There is absolutely nothing that Toji Fushiguro can offer in a fight against Sukuna in order to surpass him.

Jujutsu

Toji possessed extraordinary physical prowess but not a particle of cursed energy. Toji, thus, earned the status of the only sorcerer in the world whose cursed energy was fully erased. It is not uncommon to discover sorcerers whose cursed energy is constrained by a Binding Vow to the point of reaching the level of an ordinary person.

And that wasn’t the only odd thing about him. Without employing cursed energy, Toji could detect curses using his five senses. He completely lacked them, and as a result, he grew somewhat immune to the curses. This unique ability also made him undetectable to most jujutsu sorcerers, save for Gojo, who was able to see him even as a child.

As an S-Class, Sukuna has large quantities of Cursed Energy. He could employ his skills repeatedly in his many battles without even the slightest sign of exhaustion. He has adept occult energy management, as evidenced by his proficiency with the Domain Expansion and the Reverse Cursed Technique. He is, in this category, one of the strongest characters overall.

And while we cannot argue that Toji had a unique way of manifesting his powers, this was nothing in comparison to Sukuna’s amazing, almost endless powers and abilities, which is why Sukuna wins this one as well.

Points: Toji 0, Sukuna 2

Fighting skills

Toji is physically stronger than most people. Toji’s incredible speed has also been mentioned frequently, making it impossible for his adversaries to anticipate his moves. Toji, according to Megumi, was even more swift than Sukuna with two fingers.

Toji possessed remarkable agility and reflexes, and in their fight, he managed to evade a knife attack at close quarters despite his foot being stuck. Toji is skilled with a wide range of weapons. His entire battle strategy is predicated on replacing dark energy with weaponry. He stores a sizable armory in his curse, enabling him to quickly switch between them as necessary.

Sukuna had superhuman power in Yuji’s body and could easily send a person through a building’s numerous floors. He could readily withstand the strikes of an S-class curse, even in his partial form. He easily defeated and destroyed one of Megumi’s Shikigami as well.

Sukuna has demonstrated that he moves with such remarkable quickness that his opponent cannot detect his lack of movement until it is already too late. Sukuna was shot through several buildings and was still in pristine condition, indicating that he is remarkably resilient. Sukuna excels at hand-to-hand combat and has great strength. He is incredibly challenging to defeat in battle due to his ability to mix his spells with his physical moves.

And while, as Megumi said, Toji does surpass Sukuna with two fingers, everything above that is above his skill level. There is no doubt that even without using any special powers, Sukuna would be able to beat Toji, despite the latter being one of the series’ most formidable fighters.

Points: Toji 0, Sukuna 3

Intelligence

Toji takes his tasks seriously and approaches them with prudence and patience. He has collected much knowledge regarding the Three Clans, including some of their powerful techniques. He utilizes information to implement successful methods, like when he used them to tire out and slow down Satoru and the Star Plasma Vessel.

Toji is shrewd in combat and quick to assess the skills of his foes. Early on in their conflict, he understood Suguru’s strategy and swiftly picked up on the Split-Mouth Woman’s prowess in her Simple Domain. He also suggested many strategies to mitigate Satoru’s abilities in their first battle.

Sukuna is a very intelligent individual. He was completely aware of the nature of spells and all cursed energy. He can use this to swiftly figure out how spells operate after just seeing them and make parries tailored to these tactics. The most well-known instance is when he battled Makora and defeated the familiar after mastering his technique.

We’ve decided to split the points in this final category, as Toji’s intelligence and ability to adapt to a battle cannot be disregarded simply like that. We had to honor that. We’ve split the final point.

Points: Toji 1, Sukuna 4

There is no scenario in which Toji Fushiguro wins against Sukuna

As the points confirm, although it was obvious from the start, there is no scenario in which Toji Fushiguro wins. Sukuna is either the strongest or the second-strongest character in the whole series (depending on how his fight with Gojo goes), and while Toji is undoubtedly powerful, he is nowhere near Sukuna’s level. Sukuna’s curses are so powerful that he could easily take care of Toji in a matter of minutes without Toji being able to do anything against such a powerful entity.
