GOBLIN SLAYER! is a dark fantasy and adventure light novel series that focuses on a young and inexperienced Priestess who wants to become an adventurer but lands in trouble as goblins wipe out her first party; she is saved by the mysterious Goblin Slayer, a brutal murderer of goblins, whom she then joins as they adventure together. The world of the series is a fantasy world filled with various creatures and races, among which are the Rheas, who are small, humanoid creatures (in general) with pointy ears, although their appearance can vary. In this article, we are going to present all the Rheas in the series and will tell you all you need to know about them.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • In the world of GOBLIN SLAYER! there are many different races, among which we also have the Rheas, one of the more significant non-human races in the series.
  • The Rheas are usually humanoid creatures with pointy ears which look like small Elves or Elf-like Hobbits, although their appearance can vary, and they can even have a goblin-like appearance (such as in Burglar’s case).
  • So far, the series has introduced us to seven Rheas, not all of whom have been named in the series.

What is a Rhea in GOBLIN SLAYER!?

As we have said in our introduction, the world of GOBLIN SLAYER! is a colorful one and there are many various races and creatures inhabiting the world created by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki. Now, the world is as brutal as it is beautiful, and some numerous wonderful creatures and races are worth talking about, among which are the Rheas. This article is going to be dedicated to that exact race, as we are going to tell you all you need to know about it and about its known members.

So, in the world of GOBLIN SLAYER!, Rheas are mostly humanoid beings with Elf-like ears that live in the shadows. While some have a more human face, others look more like rats or other beasts, but based on what we have seen in the series so far, this seems like an exception rather than a rule. They are shorter than average humans and are, more or less, useless in battle, although Burlglar does speak of himself as a famous adventurer from the past, and he has taught Goblin Slayer a lot about combat.

As far as their biology is concerned, they reach physical adulthood when they are about 30 years old. In contrast, mental adulthood can be reached way earlier, depending on the individual as a whole. They can be considered as a halfling race, although their genesis has not been explained.

As far as we can understand, there are several species of Rheas, and the one Burglar belongs to has a different and less humanoid appearance than others. They also like to speak in riddles and are also teachers, although their teaching methods are not really something one should imitate. Some people consider them duplicitous thieves, which is why there is a lot of prejudice related to them.

And this is all we know about the Rheas in GOBLIN SLAYER!. The series hasn’t provided us with too much additional information, but we do hope that you’ll be satisfied with what we have collected here for you. We can now move on to the next section of the article.

All Rheas introduced in GOBLIN SLAYER!

In this section, we will introduce all the known members of the Rhea race, as shown in GOBLIN SLAYER!. So far, only seven members of this race have been introduced, and here they are (of course, if more members end up being shown, we are going to update the article with new information):

Burglar

Burglar is, by all means, the most famous member of the Rhea race. He is a member of a less human-looking species and is best known for being the mentor and master of Goblin Slayer. His teaching methods were inhumane and brutal, but they made Goblin Slayer an exceptionally skilled and powerful fighter.

Choushunka

Choushunka is a female Rhea warrior who appears as one of the protagonists of the Goblin Slayer! TRPG Replay light novels. She is a short, black-haired Rhea girl who is also a formidable warrior, although her level is not that high. She lived in poverty as a child and was initially an enemy knight, but then went to Lansapère City hoping to find her father’s old foe. She is the female protagonist of her own series. She can fight with a sword and use magic.

Druid Girl

Druid Girl is a pink-haired female Rhea who is a Heavy Warrior’s party member in the main series. She and Scout Boy lied about her age so that they could become adventurers and were initially part of Half-Elf Light Warrior’s party before joining Heavy Warrior’s party. She is very gentle and kind and always nice to others.

Rhea Fighter

Rhea Fighter is the name of another female Rhea, who is also an adventurer and part of Wizard Boy’s party; she has red hair. She is very cheerful and uplifting but is also easily scared, which was a source of humor in the series.

Unnamed Rhea Ranger

Not much is known about this Rhea Ranger, but we know she was female and was a member of an all-female party seen early on in the series. She was killed by goblins during a mission.

Two unnamed Rhea Scouts

The first Rhea Scout is a better-known male Rhea who was a member of a party of steel-ranked adventurers and is relatively famous in the series. The other is a lesser-known Noble Fencer’s Party member who died when goblins ambushed the party.
