Jujutsu Kaisen: Can Todo Still Use Boogie Woogie Without His Hand Later in the Series?

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular series of the modern era, and it makes sense that fans want to know as much as possible about the series and its characters. In this article, we will talk about one of the characters, Aoi Todo, a major supporting character in the series. Todo’s Innate Technique will be the focus of this article, as you will find out all you need to know about Boogie Woogie, especially after Todo lost his left arm during the epic clash with Mahito, which seemingly rendered him incapable of using Boogie Woogie in the future. Aoi Todo can theoretically still use Boogie Woogie, but it is almost impossible to do it without his hand

Aoi would reappear during the Shibuya Incident Arc, where he was among the sorcerers who entered the barriers to fight against the curses. He actually arrived in time to interrupt the battle between Yuji and Mahito, intervening to help his friend against the powerful curse. As he was causing many problems for Mahito, he also managed to defeat his mutated humans, which put Yuji and him in a better position.

He also demonstrated some great techniques during that battle, but Mahito still managed to cut off one of his arms, which forced Aoi to cut it off to save his life. Now, his Boogie Woogie was basically rendered useless, although he still managed to use it once to help Yuji land a blow, and he later made a bluff, tricking Mahito into thinking that he would use it, whence he did not. This allowed Yuji to land another strike on Mahito and win. But, while the outcome is quite clear, what about Aoi Todo?

Namely, we know that the essence of the Boogie Woogie technique is clapping, and now that Aoi has only one hand, he cannot clap it anymore, right? Well, that is true, and in that aspect, we can basically confirm that Aoi is unable to use his Boogie Woogie technique anymore due to not having his left arm anymore. And while he will not be able to use it in the future with ease, we can actually confirm that there is a theoretical way he can use it, as was seen during the battle with Mahito.

Namely, if Aoi Todo claps his right hand with another person’s hand, he will be able to use Boogie Woogie again, just as he did during the fight with Mahito, which is how he later bluffed him. This is very difficult to do in battle, so we’re certain that Aoi Todo won’t be resorting to this technique in battle, which is why we said it is basically useless, but there is a slim chance that he can use it under certain conditions.

What happens to Todo after Shibuya?

Long story short, Aoi Todo and Yuji Itadori defeated Mahito in Shibuya. It was an exceptionally tough fight, but they managed to do it even though Todo lost his left arm during the fight. They were bound to kill him before Kenjaku intervened and absorbed him, which is unimportant here. What interests us is what happened to Aoi Todo.

Ultimately, we can confirm that Aoi is alive in the series, but we don’t know what Akutami has in store for him later, seeing that he has been severely limited in terms of his fighting potential. He has not appeared since, and from what we can deduce, he will not play a major role in the series’ future. We sure hope that Akutami doesn’t have any sinister plans with him, but from where things stand now, it looks like Akutami will just ignore him until the end, which will probably leave him alive. And that is what we know about his fate after Shibuya.
