‘The Housemaid’ Star Sydney Sweeney Recreates Iconic ‘Home Alone’ Scenes for Syrn’s Holiday Campaign
Sydney Sweeney has never been shy about making headlines with her marketing, and her lingerie and loungewear brand SYRN is now leaning hard into the Christmas spirit. The ‘Euphoria’ star has spent the past week rolling out a holiday campaign built around some of the most recognizable festive films ever made.
Sweeney launched SYRN in January, expanding her career beyond acting and producing. The brand made a splash from the start, offering 44 sizes ranging from 30B to 42DDD, with most styles priced under $100, while a promotional stunt involving bras on the Hollywood sign kicked off its very first wave of controversy.
The latest installment of the campaign puts the spotlight squarely on ‘Home Alone’. In a new video, Sweeney recreates several memorable moments from the 1990 holiday classic, starting with a towering ice cream sundae topped with whipped cream, a nod to the treat Kevin McCallister enjoys while he has the house to himself.
She also tackles arguably the film’s most iconic image. Sweeney splashes liquid onto her face, presses both hands against her cheeks, and screams, recreating Kevin’s famous aftershave moment.
Another scene finds her in a burgundy loungewear set, holding a small white dog as a shadowy figure appears behind a curtain. Her wide-eyed reaction is a playful wink at the movie’s home invasion storyline.

The video arrived alongside the official opening of the SYRN Holiday Shop, with the brand inviting fans to shop early access to its Hibernation Nation collection. The shop opened on October 27 with 4 holiday collections on the way, starting with the Comfy drop.
Plenty of fans enjoyed the throwback. Some commenters admitted they only just realized the clips referenced ‘Home Alone’, while another joked about who on earth would leave Sweeney home alone for Christmas, and others praised the SYRN creative team as underrated.

‘Home Alone’ isn’t the only holiday favorite getting the SYRN treatment. Sweeney first teased the festive lineup on October 21 with a video on her personal Instagram, and about an hour later, the brand’s official account dropped a batch of campaign photos.
That earlier rollout featured looks inspired by Cindy Lou Who from ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ and characters from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. One look featuring blue feather fans also led some fans to suspect a nod to ‘White Christmas’.

The concept hasn’t landed with everyone, though. Some critics argued that the campaign sexualized beloved children’s classics, taking particular issue with the references to Cindy Lou Who and Kevin McCallister, since both are child characters.
Others have pushed back on that criticism and defended the ad’s playful Christmas-film imagery. Neither Sweeney nor SYRN has publicly commented on the debate. This isn’t the first time a Sweeney campaign has sparked heated discussion. The SYRN holiday push arrived just over a month after she faced backlash for a risqué campaign promoting sports betting platform Novig.
She also weathered a wave of criticism in 2025 over an American Eagle jeans ad, which critics accused of using controversial wordplay around “genes” and “jeans.” Each time, the conversation has only amplified the reach of the campaigns themselves.
Love it or not, SYRN’s strategy of borrowing familiar scenes clearly gives followers plenty to share and debate, which seems to be exactly the point. With more holiday collections still to come, it’s likely not the last festive reference fans will see from Sweeney this season.
