Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga became a true hit and the anime certainly cemented the work’s popularity around the world. Now, Attack on Titan quickly evolved into a franchise, and aside from the core manga and the Attack on Titan anime adaptation, a lot of other spin-off works, as well as derivative works have been produced. 6. Attack on Titan: Assault

The last place on our list of best Attack on Titan games goes to Attack on Titan: Assault. Attack on Titan: Assault is an upcoming mobile game that will be released for iOS and Android devices. The originally untitled game was scheduled for release in all major English markets in late 2016. In 2018, the game was renamed Attack on Titan: Assault, with an open beta available for download. The game is expected to combine elements of runner and action games and feature a multiplayer mode.

GameSamba began beta testing Attack on Titan: Assault on iOS and Android devices in late July 2018, and a trailer was released on January 22, 2019, showing off some gameplay and in-game graphics. The open beta game on Google Play has been available for download for all users since March 19, 2019.

5. Attack on Titan TACTICS

The story mode of Attack on Titan TACTICS contains two different types of levels: the normal mode, which all players must complete before moving on to the next section, and the hard mode. In this mode, players can get a larger amount of rewards, such as more experience to increase their player rank or more money to buy items.

This is a unique, non-official character development scene created to show how characters change throughout the story. There is at least one episode per character type, and each episode contains different aspects of that character that show their history. Example: If there is a character with 3 card variants, there are at least 3 episodes that show the evolution of that character throughout the story.

This is another unique event with at least 5 events that always change after a certain period of time, except for three. The three that do not change are the Gold Challenge, the Awakening Challenge, and the Training Challenge. Here the player can get certain rewards such as gold, training items, and awakening medals that can improve the character’s overall rank, abilities and level.

These events have a limited time in which they can be done, and each limit is refreshed after twenty-four hours. For example, in the Gold event you can do the main event once and the side missions 5 times in one day. Attack on Titan TACTICS ended service on August 30, 2020, at 23:00 PDT, as was announced via Twitter.

4. Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death

The visual novel Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death takes place before the Female Titans story arc, and the Survey Corps is given the task of investigating Elsnir Castle. The protagonist is an original member of the Survey Corps and a local resident; he leads the group to their location. During their investigation, they are surrounded by Titans and the ground gives way beneath them, scattering the group. The protagonist’s omnidirectional mobility equipment is broken by the fall. They must escape from the castle’s underground ruins, working together with the characters from the series.

Players decide on the name and gender of their protagonist. If you choose a male character, Mikasa will be your default companion, while Levi will accompany you if you choose a female character. Additional characters will be unlocked if the player successfully escapes with at least one partner. These special characters are paired when they travel with the protagonist: Reiner and Bertholdt, and Christa and Ymir.

There are two important character parameters that influence the likelihood of a successful escape: “desperation” and “affinity.” Both affect the tone of character interactions during the game. To progress in the story of Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death you need to search each area. To do this, double tap on the shiny parts in an area’s touchscreen mirror. You can find and equip items to advance the story, change the dangers of the Titans and random events, or find different weapons to challenge the Titans. Events that advance the main storyline are indicated by exclamation points on the touchscreen map.

During the search option, the Titans can attack the player (“battle action”). Battles are fought via button sequences; by pressing the correct button combination, the characters in the series can dodge the Titans’ attacks and fight back. Keystrokes are rated “miss,” “good,” and “perfect.” The “Good” and “Perfect” ratings increase affinity; “Perfect” is also a necessary requirement for unlocking events with certain characters.

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains follows the story of the anime, starting from the year 845 when the colossal and armored Titan first attacked and destroyed Wall Maria. The player initially controls Eren, but as the game progresses Mikasa, Armin, and other members of the Scout Regiment become playable characters. The game ends at the point where season 1 of the anime ends.

World Mode, which you can unlock after helping Eren seal the gate in the Solace District, is a mode in which the player creates a character that joins the Scout Regiment. The player can buy equipment, invest in and upgrade facilities, develop equipment and participate in various missions. The more the story mode progresses, the more cosmetic items and accessories you can wear.

Attack mode is the story mode of Attack on Titan. It consists of three main chapters of the game that go up to the capture of the Female Titan, as well as a prologue and an epilogue with a total of 25 story missions.

The player in Attack on Titan 2 is tasked with creating a character to join the Scout Regiment with the rest of the cast. The story mode covers the first two seasons of the anime and takes place from the point of view of the player’s own character. Various dialog options are available to the player in the cutscenes, and the custom character can mingle with the squadmates between missions. By improving friendships with his comrades, the player can increase his effectiveness in combat.

As the player gets closer to his squad, he can address the custom character differently, for example, by his first name instead of his last name. Like the first game, the main story of this game also contains an original scenario created under Isayama’s supervision. Completing this mode will unlock additional characters and features. The territory restoration mode includes a non-canon regiment of characters that can be either one of the four in your roster or simply in the character list. These four characters in your roster (which can include your custom protagonist) take part in reconnaissance missions to regain territory lost by the Titans. Along the way, you can recruit characters (as long as your friendship indicator is active – friendship does not carry over from another mode, normal mode, or inferno mode) to join your roster or be added to your character roster.
