Fictional characters are a huge part of our lives, whether we like that or not. Many times we spend talking about them with our friends or ruminating about them in our minds. As time pass, we tend to forget some of them, but if we keep a list of those characters, we are just one click away from them. So, in that regard, here is a list of the 40 best fictional characters that start with I!
1. Iron Man (Marvel Comics)
Let’s start with Iron Man. Tony Stark, a multibillionaire businessman, brilliant inventor, playboy, and C.E.O. of Stark Industries, built an armored suit powered by an arc reactor and became the superhero, Iron Man. The suit was initially capable of flight and high endurance and could fire various missiles and laser beams, but constant upgrades made it an advanced fighting armor.
2. Irene Adler (Sherlock Holmes)
Irene is a beautiful and seductive woman who can enchant and hypnotize men. She outwitted Holmes, after which he developed a deep admiration for her. Adler reciprocated his feelings, and they had an intimate love affair.
3. Ikaris (Marvel Comics)
Ikaris belongs to the Eternals, a race with superior genetics and superhuman skills like levitation and immortality. He is regarded as a senior Eternal, having steered his race through numerous adventures.
4. Isildur (The Lord of the Rings)
Isildur is Elendil’s eldest son, who shared leadership of Gondor in the South with his brother while their father lived in Arnor in the North. The One Ring was taken during the War of the Last Alliance by Isildur, but he refused to destroy it and was killed by Orcs. The Ring was lost for thousands of years.
5. Ilyn Payne (A Song of Ice and Fire)
Sir Ilyn Payne, a mute knight who served as the King’s justice and royal executioner, had his tongue removed by the Mad King after he was convicted of tyranny. On the order of King Joffrey Baratheon, he killed Eddard Stark.

An old Autobot and friend of Optimus Prime and is a perfect example of old is gold. He is a weapons expert and mostly has a chip on his shoulder. Ironhide has a wide range of arsenal, including missile launchers and guns. He transforms into a GMC TopKick.

Red Flock’s member Ice Bird, who only appears in Angry Birds space, is the second unique character featured outside of the original Angry Birds game. He is an alien ally of the Flock who helps them defeat the space pigs.

Cousin Itt is a member of the Addams Family. Itt appears to be a monster with floor-length blonde hears. He speaks in high-pitched gibberish that his family can understand and has a very high I.Q. Itt always wears a hat and round sunglasses.

An absent mind detective who causes chaos wherever he goes. As luck in his favor, he solves all his cases correctly by accident and finds the correct culprits. He often tries to disguise himself in silly outfits which barely hide his identity.
10. Invisible Woman (Fantastic Four)
Sue Storm gained her abilities after being exposed to a cosmic storm. She is capable of invisibility and creating force fields. Sue struggled at a young age after losing her parents to raise her brother. she co-founded the Fantastic Four and became its most powerful member.
11. Indra Otsutsuki (Naruto Shippuden)
The eldest child of Hagoromo Otsutsuki was Indra Tsutsuki. Many believed that he was the best person to carry on his father’s teachings; however, younger brother Asura wound up receiving that position which provoked the conflict between the two brothers.
12. Itchy (The Itchy and Scratchy Show)
An anthropomorphic mouse named Itchy is the main antagonist of The Itchy and Scratchy Show and continuously attacks his parents, Scratchy. He is frequently killed by Itchy, who always starts the fights.
13. Isaiah Bradley (Marvel Comics)
Isaiah Bradley is the Black Captain America and was one of the 300 African American troops who participated in the attempt to duplicate the Super Soldier Serum. As the sole survivor, Bradley adopted the identity of Captain America and traveled to Europe to participate in the conflict.

The Headmaster and a magician of Durmstrang Institute, Igor Karkaroff, was a death eater who served Lord Voldemort during the First Wizarding War. An ancient King who is freed from his ice prison and wreaks havoc on Third Earth, turning most of it into ice. Thundercats fought him, thinking he was evil, only to find out he was looking for an ancient egg to reunite with his wife one more time.

A mutant superhero, Icarus was a student at Xavier Institute. His siblings are also mutants. His mutant powers are feathered wings which grant him the ability to fly. He can create sonic blasts and has quick healing capability. He lost his wings at one point to William Stryker and his power of flight and rapid healing.
