One of the most popular Star Wars characters today is Ahsoka Tano, who became a prominent figure after going through the entire Clone Wars as Anakin Skywalker’s trusted Padawan. Of course, she decided to follow her path after losing her trust in the Jedi Order and eventually left, parting ways with her lightsabers. But she started wielding her iconic white lightsabers ever since Ahsoka was reintroduced in Star Wars: Rebels. So, where did Ahsoka get her white lightsabers?

Ahsoka got her white lightsabers from the Inquisitor known as the Sixth Brother. During the reign of the Empire, the Sixth Brother hunted Ahsoka down. However, Ahsoka defeated the Sixth Brother. She created her white lightsabers by purifying the Kyber crystals in the lightsabers of the Sixth Brother.

While Ahsoka may have been trained as a Jedi, she had to leave her lightsabers when she left the order. Of course, Kyber crystals are incredibly rare, and that meant that she couldn’t get those crystals just about anywhere to craft her new lightsabers. Luckily, she could defeat the Sixth Brother and use his lightsabers to create her own lightsabers, which allowed her to forge her own path in life.

How Did Ahsoka Lose Her Original Lightsabers?

Initially a polarizing character that not everyone loved, Ahsoka eventually became one of the most popular and beloved characters of Star Wars due to her growth. She made her first appearance in Star Wars: Clone Wars, which is the story that bridged the events of Episodes II and III. During her time fighting in the Clone Wars, she underwent significant growth both as a character and a Jedi while working under Anakin Skywalker as his Padawan.

Of course, another thing that made Ahsoka so popular was her fighting style. While Anakin and Obi-Wan were known for using single blades, Ahsoka took up Jar’Kai and specialized in handling two lightsabers. One saber was a standard lightsaber, while the other was a shorter shoto that she used to complement the main lightsaber. Her main saber was green, while the shoto was yellow-green.

But we all know that Ahsoka eventually gained white lightsabers during the time that she made her reintroduction in the Star Wars lore in Star Wars: Rebels. An older and wiser Ahsoka had white lightsabers at that time, which meant that she no longer had the original sabers she used during the Clone wars. So, what happened to Ahsoka’s original lightsabers?

During the events of the Clone Wars, Ahsoka’s lightsabers were weapons that she relied on a lot. But the danger was always close, and she didn’t even realize that one of her friends had betrayed her. After working on several missions together, Barris Offee, a fellow Padawan, had become close to Ahsoka. However, Barris had become disillusioned by the Jedi Order and embraced the dark side of the Force.

While they were both in the Jedi Temple, Barris bombed the hangar of the temple and framed Ahsoka for it. The Jedi Council found Ahsoka guilty and decided to expel her from the order. Nevertheless, her innocence was proven. Still hurt by the fact that the Jedi Council didn’t trust her enough, she decided to leave the Jedi Order for good even after the Jedi Council made a mistake in expelling her right away.

After Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, she left her lightsabers with them. Anakin, however, took care of the lightsabers. The sabers’ blades were changed to blue during the latter part of the storyline after Anakin tinkered with them. Anakin returned the sabers to Ahsoka during the time that she took part in the Siege of Mandalore while being allied with Bo-Katan Kryze.

During the events of Order 66, Ahsoka was targeted by Captain Rex, who was under the influence of the control chip in his brain. With the help of Maul, Ahsoka could remove the chip from Rex’s head, allowing them to escape after the former Sith Lord dismantled the hyperdrive of the ship they were in. While Ahsoka, Rex, and Maul survived, all of the other clones on that ship didn’t.

Ahsoka and Rex built a memorial for the fallen clones. She also decided to leave her lightsabers there so that she would be able to successfully fake her own death, especially now that she knows that the Jedi are being hunted. And being “dead” was the only way for her to escape the wrath of the Empire after the events of Order 66.

Where Did Ahsoka Get Her White Lightsabers?

After faking her death, Ahsoka went into hiding so that she could live a peaceful life away from the Empire. However, she was not blind to the things that the Empire was doing. She lived a normal life in Raada as a girl named Ashla. However, because she had to use the Force on one occasion to save someone from getting hurt, that was when her identity as a Jedi was discovered.

Did Ahsoka Know About Anakin and Padme?

In Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, an unnamed Inquisitor came to the planet to search for Ahsoka. Meanwhile, in the book, the Inquisitor that came for her was the Sixth Brother. The Inquisitor destroyed the farm and was about to kill everyone in sight. But that was when Ahsoka arrived to confront her opponent.

Despite the fact that the Inquisitor wielded a lightsaber, Ahsoka was up for the challenge because her training with Anakin and her skills with the Force came in handy. In the book, the Sixth Brother was about to split his double-bladed lightsaber. But Ahsoka overloaded the Kyber crystals in the lightsabers using the Force to defeat the Sixth Brother.

After defeating the Sixth Brother, Ahsoka used the Kyber crystals in his red lightsaber. She purified the corrupted form of the crystals as they turned white. This allowed Ahsoka to forge new lightsabers that both had white-colored blades that were unique to her. And these blades soon became Ahsoka’s signature weapons.
