Why Is Fortnite Size So Big?

Fortnite is a highly popular free-to-play video game. It has a highly active and ever-expanding community of players and fans. The file size for downloading and installing Fortnite is big on all platforms for the following reasons:

  • The expanding number of players makes it necessary for the developers to create regular updates.
  • Being such a popular game, the game needs extra security measures to protect users from hackers, malware, and spyware. This means more system files and more space.
  • The developers make money from in-game purchases. Thus, there is an ever-expanding array of in-game items, including weapons, add-ons, and V-bucks. Each set of items available for purchase means more file storage space requirements.
  • The development of new maps and features makes for increased space requirements.
