How Strong Is Muichirō Tokitō (Compared to Other Demon Slayer Characters?)
When one decides to talk about Demon Slayer, one usually talks about the demon slayers themselves or the demons. And while the series has offered us a variety of other intriguing characters, we are going to talk about one specific Demon Slayer – Muichirō Tokitō, the Mist Hashira – in this particular article. Muichirō is a very interesting character because he is quite young yet enormously powerful. Building on that fact, we have decided, in this article, to tell you a bit about his powers and abilities, as well as how he would fare against numerous other characters from the Demon Slayer series.
The article is going to be divided into two major parts. The first one will represent Muichirō Tokitō’s powers and abilities, while the other one will be a short comparison of Muichirō Tokitōs powers and abilities to the powers and abilities of other characters, divided into several subsections. These will not be detailed analyses, just brief comments so you can understand Muichirō Tokitō’s position in the Demon Slayer lore.
Muichirō Tokitō’s powers and abilities
Muichirō Tokitō is a Hashira from the Demon Slayer Corps and an extremely skilled swordsman. Regardless of his young age, he is well known for his incredible talent, having become a Hashira after only two months of training with the Corps. Kokushibō, the Upper Moon One, also lauded his skills, stating they were advanced for his age. Despite this, Kokushibō outclassed Muichirō in every aspect and chopped off his hand after drawing his blade. Later in the battle, though, his contribution to the destruction of Upper Moon proved vital: after opening the Transparent World, being able to tint his Nichirin Blade crimson red, and being prepared to sacrifice himself, Muichirō delivered a critical blow.
Like Tanjirō, Muichirō, at some point during the fight with Kokushibō, managed to perceive the Transparent World, which allowed him to observe his enemies’ muscles, blood flow, and joint movements. This ability helped him strike the Upper Moon One and keep him in one place, giving his allies a chance to kill him. His ability to observe his opponents’ muscles, blood flow, and joint motions enabled him to precisely forecast and foresee their moves and strikes. Muichirō has very sharp senses that enable him to detect things that go outside the realm of ordinary perception, such as the obvious difference between a demon’s aura and a person’s aura.
Muichirō was incredibly quick for a Hashira, showing the capacity to bombard demons and travel at speeds akin to teleportation. He could easily outrun Tanjirō Kamado’s reactions in terms of speed. When Muichirō battled Gyokko, his superhuman speed and reflexes were significantly improved. He was able to slice through an absurd 10,000 slime fish in a split second and even send them all flying before their blood touched him. He was also able to be on par with Gyokko, who could teleport and eventually succeeded in beheading the demon before the demon could react. Muichirō also showed amazing control over the speed of his own movements.
Muichirō has proven time and time again that he has superhuman endurance. With enough power to be able to stay on par with Gyokko, Muichirō was utterly unfazed by the poisoning and scarcely even flinched. However, his fight against Kokushibō best demonstrated his extraordinary pain tolerance. As soon as the demon swordsman’s arm was severed, he halted the bleeding and simply continued his attack, and Muichirō barely exhibited any discomfort when the sword punctured his shoulder. substantial harm to him. The most astounding thing was that he still had his katana securely in his hand after having had his entire torso severed.
Even though his physique seems one of the smallest and seemingly weakest among the Demon Slayers and Hashira, Muichirō has shown physical strength a cut above that of the average Demon Slayer. It’s obvious that when Tanjirō tried to grab his hand to stop him from attacking Kotetsu, the Hashira’s hand didn’t even budge despite Tanjirō squeezing it with all his might.
Later, he made Tanjirō spit out saliva by elbowing him in the stomach and also rendered Tanjirō unconscious with a single punch to the neck, all with little effort. With the sword, he could pierce Yoriichi’s Type Zero armor and then effortlessly sever Gyokko’s neck, which he himself described as more durable than a diamond.
Muichirō believes that his strength and willpower, which both come after the passing of his brother, are the result of his training and the wrath that has been aroused and is constantly present in him. His strong resolve and unflinching spirit were a result of this unquenchable hatred, which he carried with him despite suffering deadly wounds to his arm, both legs and eventually his entire body. He stayed unwavering despite all of these wounds and helpless circumstances, which finally resulted in Kokushibō’s loss.
How powerful is Muichirō Tokitō compared to other Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba characters?
This section will compare Muichirō Tokitō to some other strong Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba characters. These are going to be brief comparisons whose main goal is to give you a general idea of his powers and abilities.
Muichirō Tokitō vs. Tanjirō Kamado
Well, this is an intriguing one, and we decided to start off with it. Namely, when Tanjirō first met the Hashira, he was nowhere near their level, but as time passed, Tanjirō became very powerful. He even mastered Sun Breathing, becoming one of a very small number of Demon Slayers who managed to master two different styles. This definitely has changed Tanjirō’s position, and in all honesty, we actually think that Tanjirō has reached Muichirō’s level and that they were equal at one point.
Muichirō Tokitō vs. Kokushibō
We always pick one specific Hashira to compare with a member of the Kizuki, and in Muichirō’s case, we picked Kokushibō, as the two of them were actually related. From an objective standpoint, we have to confirm that Muichirō was indeed a powerful fighter, but as the fight between them showed, Kokushibō was far superior and had no trouble dealing with Muichirō alone. And while Muichirō did defeat Kokushibō, it was only after three other Demon Slayers came to his aid in the fight.
Muichirō Tokitō vs. the remaining Hashira
This is a very versatile category, depending on whom Muichirō would fight. Muichirō was not the strongest Hashira, so we’re certain that Gyōmei, Obanai, and possibly even Giyu could defeat him. Shinobu seems to be on a similar level to his, and the same could be said about Mitrusi, but we’d give Muichirō the advantage in this particular comparison. Sanemi would most probably lose to him; we’re quite certain of it. As for Tengen, without his arm, he wouldn’t really stand a chance, and the only one who’s a mystery still is Rengoku, but we’d probably give the Flame Hashira a small advantage,
Muichirō Tokitō vs. Zen’itsu
Zen’itsu was able to defeat Kaigaku, and he would probably do relatively well against a Hashira, but he would lose to Muichirō. And while Zen’itsu is certainly not to be underestimated, that much is true. He simply lacks the power, experience, and versatility to fight Muichirō. While Zen’itsu is certainly not weak, he is not even near Muichirō’s skill level. This is why we are certain that Muichirō Tokitō would not have too much trouble facing Zenitsu in a one-on-one fight.
Muichirō Tokitō vs. Inosuke
Everything we’ve said about Zen’itsu can also be applied to Inosuke. Inosuke is physically stronger than Zen’itsu and has a more versatile set of skills, but this is not nearly enough to defeat Muichirō. On top of that, his tactical skills are far inferior to Muichirō’s in every way imaginable. Inosuke is not stupid, but he approaches the fight without thinking, actually, and that is simply not good enough against an opponent who is as powerful as Muichirō.
Muichirō Tokitō vs. Muzan
Muzan is the most powerful of all Demons and the creator of all the Demons that came after him. His weaknesses are the same as those of the other Demons, but his powers and abilities far surpass those of any other known Demon in the series. Using his powers, he has turned numerous people into Demons and has organized the most powerful ones in the Twelve Kizuki. Muichirō Tokitō has proven himself capable of killing a memeber of the Twelve Kizuki, but in a one-on-one fight, he would not be able to defeat Muzan.
Muichirō Tokitō vs. Dōma
As far as Dōma is concerned, this is a very complex one. Dōma was defeated thanks to Shinobu’s sacrifice; otherwise, we’re not sure that the Corps would have defeated him so easily. And while Muichirō was able to single-handedly defeat the Upper Moon Five and would probably be able to defeat Hantengu as well, we don’t think he would defeat Dōma alone.
Muichirō Tokitō vs. the remaining Twelve Kizuki
As a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Muichirō Tokitō was exceptionally powerful and skilled. He managed to defeat Gyokko, the Upper Moon Five, all by himself, and we’re certain that he would be able to do the same to both Hantengu and Nakime and all the lower-ranking Kizuki. On the other hand, Akaza, the only higher-ranking Demon we haven’t mentioned, would – we think – still be too much for Muichirō in a direct one-on-one fight, but it is a very close call, so we’d call it a draw.
