Elden Ring is a game that’s full of secret places that you can get to, regardless of whether or not they are a part of the game’s main story. Of course, these secret areas allow you to obtain terrific treasures and unlock hidden gems that you wouldn’t be able to get if you didn’t get to these areas. One such area we are talking about is the Palace Approach Ledge-Road. So, how do you get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road in Elden Ring?
To get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road, you need to complete the Secret Haligtree Medallion and then use it in the Grand Lift of Rold to get to the Consecrated Snowfields. Find the portal in the west portion of the Consecrated Snowfield to get to the Palace Approach-Ledge Road.
The Palace Approach Ledge-Road is usually a place that players only go to so that they can gain access to another area in Elden Ring. However, this place offers a hidden secret that not a lot of people know about. As such, let’s look at how you can get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road in Elden Ring so that you can uncover what this place holds for you.
Location Of The Palace Approach Ledge-Road In Elden Ring
Playing an open-world game like Elden Ring will allow you to take advantage of the many different hidden places that you need to actually know how to find if you want to be able to get some of the secret items and weapons that you can get in these areas. Of course, it is important to note that Elden Ring is a difficult game that will require you to take advantage of anything that’s available to you, and that means that it might be a good idea for you to be able to find a lot of secret areas.
One such secret area in Elden Ring is the Palace Approach Ledge-Road, which is a place that you normally won’t be able to get to if you are focused on the game’s main story. But the fact of the matter is that there are plenty of players who want to get to this area as early as they can because it allows them to become stronger faster (as you would understand later on). So, where is the location of the Palace Approach Ledge-Road?
The Palace Approach Ledge-Road cannot be found in any of the normal maps in Elden Ring because it is actually in an underground area hidden beneath Caelid. That means that you need to be able to get to a different place that would take you to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road, much like how you need to go through the large hole in Limgrave to get to Nokron, Eternal City.
It is the fact that the Palace Approach Ledge-Road is a hidden place that can be difficult to get to that makes it a secret area that not a lot of players are able to find in Elden Ring unless they actually look the area up. This is why we have this guide to help you how to found the Palace Approach Ledge-Road.
How To Get To The Palace Approach Ledge-Road In Elden Ring
The good news for you is that we have made it simple for you to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road in Elden Ring. And there are actually two methods that you can follow if you want to get to this hidden area in the game.
First Method
The first method of getting to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road is making use of the teleporter that you can find in the Consecrated Snowfield. And you would have to do something else to actually get to the Consecrated Snowfield.
First of all, this method requires that you are already far enough into the game and have already defeated Morgott the Omen King in Leyndell, Royal Capital. This means that you have to be around 80 or so in terms of your level. The reason why you need to defeat Morgott first is that you won’t be able to access the Grand Lift of Rold in the Forbidden Lands unless you defeat the Omen King first.
After you’ve gained access to the Grand Lift of Rold in the Forbidden Lands, the next thing you need to do is to obtain the Haligtree Secret Medallion. This medallion has two halves. The first one is easy to get because you only need to go to the Village of the Albinaurics and find and attack a large pot that would reveal a man that would give you one-half of the medallion.
However, the second half of the medallion can only be obtained in Castle Sol in the Mountaintops of the Giants, which you can reach by going through the Grand Lift of Rold the normal way without the use of the Secret Haligtree Medallion. The castle can be found in the northern area of the Mountaintops of the Giants. Meanwhile, you need to defeat the boss that can be found in this area to get the second half.
Once you’ve completed the Secret Haligtree Medallion, go back to the Grand Lift of Rold and use the medallion to get to the Consecrated Snowfield. From there, go to the west portion of the map to find a teleporter that’s going to be guarded by an NPC that you may need to defeat first. After defeating the opponent, you are now free to use the teleporter that will take you to a cave that you need to go through to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road.
Second Method
The second method is somewhat an easier way for you to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road, but it might be tricky for beginner players because of how they aren’t made to be able to handle the enemies in this area.
This method requires that you complete the questline of White-Faced Varre. He is the very first NPC that you’ll meet in the game. Upon meeting him in Limgrave, he will soon move to the Rose Church in Liurnia of the Lakes. Talk to him and exhaust his dialogue until he gives you five Festering Bloody Fingers. You can use these items to invade the worlds of other people, and you need to do it three times to complete this part of the quest.
After completing that task, return to Varre. He will give you a cloth that you need to soak in the blood of a Maiden. You can soak the cloth in the Church of Inhibition in the northeast area of Liurnia of the Lakes. It can be found southwest of the Grand Lift of Dectus. You have to go through the Frenzied Flame Village to get there, and you need to defeat an NPC invader. Inside the church, there will be a corpse of a maiden that you can interact with to get the cloth soaked in her blood.
Return to Varre in the Rose Church to complete the quest. He will give you the Pureblood Knight’s Medal, which you can use to get to Mohg, Lord of Blood. Use the medal so that you’ll be taken to Mohg’s location. From there, you need to backtrack through the swamp to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road.
In short, the second method will allow you to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road as early as possible, as long as you can already access Liurnia. The tricky part here is defeating the NPC invader that’s going to be in the Frenzied Flame Village. However, as long as you defeat that NPC, all you need to do is to survive the other enemies along the way to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road.
What To Do In The Palace Approach Ledge-Road In Elden Ring?
The reason why you might want to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road in the conventional sense is that this is a place that you can access if you want to kill Mohg, Lord of Blood. In most cases, people access the Palace Approach Ledge-Road so that they can get to Mohg.
However, what people don’t know is that this is one of the best places for you to farm runes so that you can level up faster. The trick here is to go to the ledge and then use a sniping weapon, such as a longbow or a spell with great range, and hit the bird monster that you can find in the area overlooking the ledge.
Hit that monster, and it will try to get to you by going over a cliff. This will reward you around 11,000 runes, which are actually a lot, especially if you look at the fact that the effort was minimal at best. There will also be enemies around the Palace Approach Ledge-Road, and killing them will reward you around 2,000 runes. Just use the Site of Grace to reset the area so that you can endlessly farm this place for runes.
