‘Invincible’: 10 Best Omni-Man Quotes

Share:

Omni-Man is the most complicated character in ‘Invincible’ franchise. He was introduced as Earth’s prime superhero, only to be revealed as a Viltrumite sleeper agent after massacring Guardians of the Globe. Following that, he almost brutally murdered his own son only to have a change of heart somewhere in deep space and become a heroic leader of Thraxans, even starting a new family. As such, Omni-Man cannot be painted either completely good or bad, and characters that tether on both sides of the spectrum have the most wisdom to share. Let’s see the ten best Omni-Man quotes.

1 “I will burn this planet down. Before I spend another Minute living among these animals!”

We’re going to start off with Nolan’s early quotes. As you can see, he was disgusted with humans so much that he considered them mere animals, and he was looking forward to dropping his human guise and continuing with the supposed Viltrumite takeover. Despite spending decades on Earth, this quote gives the impression that Omni-Man didn’t really absorb as much humanity as we would have hoped.

2. “Why did you make me do this? You’re fighting so you can watch everyone around you die! Think, Mark! You’ll outlast every fragile, insignificant being on this planet. You’ll live to see this world crumble to dust and blow away! Everyone and everything you know will be gone! “

Nolan was always a hard cynic as a result of his Viltrumite upbringing; despite planning for his son to conquer the Earth with him, he somehow forgot to instill the same “values” into his son. This quote perfectly shows the central conflict between Omni-Man’s alien, utilitarian perspective and Mark’s more human, compassionate viewpoint.

3. “What happens out there, the mistakes, even the victories, you can’t bring it home.”

The life of a superhero does come with a set of challenges, and every action, be it positive or negative, does have consequences. You need to know how to keep positive and negative consequences separated, but you can’t let either victories or defeats affect you on a personal level. It’s also likely that he was trying to emphasize how the burden that superheroes or soldier, for that matter, have shouldn’t be shared with their loved ones.

4. “Look at what they need to mimic just a fraction of our power.”

Okay, I’m having a hard time taking this one seriously enough due to how much of a meme it has become. I know Omni-Man is roasting humanity in that scene, but it just shows how self-centered Viltrumites are. Yes, Viltrumites are powerful, but I guess they weren’t powerful enough to develop emotional intelligence.

5. “You want to die for this planet? Fine. What’s 17 more years? I can always start again… make another kid.”

Nolan was purposely cruel in this scene, trying to deliver just how much his Earth life didn’t mean anything to him after all these years. Nolan was technically true; he had an infinite amount of time considering his Viltrumite age, but of course, we’re talking about the old Nolan, and he did technically make another kid.

6.”This isn’t your world. It’s theirs. But we can help them. We can stop wars. Eliminate hunger. Give them medical technology centuries ahead of what they have now. We’ve already been doing it. If it wasn’t for you and me, this planet would be in flames.”

In this quote, Omni-Man is trying to gaslight himself and Mark into believing that Earthlings will be better off after Viltrum takes over. He suggests that their advanced technology and abilities give them the power to solve humanity’s problems, such as wars, hunger, and medical issues. The implication that the Viltrumites view themselves as benevolent saviors with the capacity to bring about positive change is laughable, especially if we take into account how cruel they are toward their own kind as well.

7. “I do love your mother. But she’s more like a… a pet to me.”

Despite spending a lifetime on Earth and being a good husband to Debbie, it’s heartbreaking in what light he saw her that entire time, and it’s even more heartbreaking how easily he moved on from her and had another child while her heart was breaking. It’s also absolutely insane that the two eventually get back together again

8.”It’s right to pity them Mark, but wrong to value them over your own kind.”

One more Viltrum-supremacy quote that shows how Nola looked at humans all the while he was pretending to be their protector. Ironically, Nolan keeps forgetting that his son is 50 % human, as when he is talking down an entire race of humans, he is also talking down on his own son.

9.”The Viltrumites are coming for me. They could be here at any moment. You arrived just in time. Once they find your brother they will kill him. If I’m defeated I will be taken back to Viltrum for execution. I need your help in defending this planet.”

Now we’re slowly transitioning to a changed Nolan after he had Thraxan son and decided that he, after all, wants to be a force of positive change in the Universe. Despite any previous conflicts or differences, Omni-Man recognizes the need for united action against a common enemy. This single quote is the biggest proof that he had changed because he was man enough to ask for help instead of pushing through as his Viltrumite upbringing told him he has to.

9.”There are less than fifty pure-blooded Viltrumites left alive in the whole universe. That’s the secret…that’s the thing they don’t want anyone to know…that’s why we can beat them.”

Nolan gives Mark hope that Viltrumites, despite being extremely more powerful than humans, are rapidly losing numbers and are not able to replace them. This is just one proof that Nolan has changed because the old him would have died to keep this information a secret.
