Marvel TV Exec Hints at ‘Ghost Rider’ Disney+ Series & Reveals a Likely Lead Rider
Ghost Rider is one of Marvel’s most iconic characters, with movies predating the MCU’s existence. Even people who don’t follow comics or superhero media recognize Ghost Rider or his distinct look.
This makes it even more surprising that the character hasn’t been featured in the MCU yet. While Robbie Reyes did make an appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the show’s place in MCU canon is murky, and as of now, he isn’t considered part of the official MCU continuity.
Over the past year, rumors have been swirling about a potential Ghost Rider movie or TV series, possibly tied to a Midnight Sons project. While nothing official has been confirmed by Marvel execs, fans have already begun dream-casting, with Ryan Gosling expressing interest in the role.
Now, there’s finally something more concrete. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, told Collider that Ghost Rider is a project he would greenlight without hesitation. He also revealed that the version of Ghost Rider he’d like to focus on is Danny Ketch.
Given your fan-first approach to this, I’m curious to hear your answer to this question. If you could snap your fingers right now and green-light the series of your choice, what would it be and why?
WINDERBAUM: I would wanna do the Danny Ketch era of Ghost Rider. I think there are a lot of people who would be here for some Ghost Rider.
Ghost Rider’s chances of landing a project have never been better. As mentioned earlier, there’s been plenty of buzz about a potential Midnight Sons project. Additionally, Agatha All Along teased key characters connected to Ghost Rider’s lore, such as Mephisto, Blackheart, and even Jennifer Kale.
We’ve also discussed how, after the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, the MCU is set to delve deeper into its supernatural side—a perfect fit for Ghost Rider. We’re excited to see where this journey takes us!
