Jujutsu Kaisen is known for its powerful characters and its brilliant fights, some of which are among the best animated in the history of anime. The second season is currently being aired after the first one premiered a while ago, and the prequel movie became a great success, and while we’re waiting for that, we have decided to compare two extremely powerful characters from the series, one of them a powerful villain, and the other a hero-turned-villain. One of them is Toji Fushiguro, the main villain of Gojo’s Past Arc, who was able to beat Gojo despite not having any powers himself, while the other is Suguru Geto, a protagonist-turned-villain and Gojo’s former best friend. In this article, you will find out who would win in a fight between the two.

At the peak of his powers, Suguru Geto managed to surpass Toji Fushiguro’s power level, although Toji beat him when they were younger. Much of Toji’s success came from fighting younger versions of Gojo and Geto, who were not as powerful as they would become. Since it took Yuta, a powerful sorcerer, to defeat the peak-level Geto, we don’t think that Toji Fushiguro’s lack of cursed energy would be enough to overpower such a powerful version of Suguru Geto. He wouldn’t go down easily, that is certain, but he would ultimately be defeated.

Now that you have the short version of the answer, we are going to provide you with a detailed category-by-category analysis of the issue, presenting the characters in questions to you and giving you a point-by-point analysis that is going to help you understand why Suguru Geto, at his peak, would be able to beat Toji Fushiguro in a direct clash, despite losing to him when the two of them were younger.

Overall skills

Even though he is technically a non-jujutsu sorcerer with an innate affinity for the occult and is simply devoid of cursed energy, Toji is one of the most formidable fighters in the history of jujutsu.

With naturally superior physical skills, Toji engaged some of his time’s toughest and most formidable sorcerers. Yuki Tsukumo, an S-class sorcerer, even commented on his superhuman abilities. The then-young Satoru Gojo, who was already one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world at the time, and the strong curse user Suguru Geto were defeated relatively easily by Toji at the time. On top of that, he was even able win against Dagon, an S-class curse, in his own Domain Expansion

One of the four S-Class Exorcists, Suguru Geto, was regarded as the most deadly curse manipulator due to his threat to humanity. Both Geto and Gojo were regarded as “the strongest” students while they were together in the school. He was able to easily overcome skilled curse users numerous times.

He has a sizable collection of curses, each with unique skills and combat duties. Suguru had enough courage and skill to wage a war on the whole jujutsu society thanks to the numerous curses and other curse users by his side.

As we’ve said, Toji was able to defeat a young Geto, but later, Suguru Geto became so powerful that he was actually considered to be a threat to society, something that Toji never was. This is why Geto wins this first point.

Points: Toji 0, Geto 1

Jujutsu

Toji was incredibly strong physically, yet he completely lacked any cursed energy. Toji became the only sorcerer in the entire globe whose cursed energy was completely eliminated as a result. It is not rare to come across sorcerers whose cursed energy has been so severely restrained by a Binding Vow as to equal that of a common person, but Toji’s case was unique.

Toji used his five senses to sense curses without consuming cursed energy. He was absolutely devoid of them, and as a result, he developed some resistance to curses. With the exception of Gojo, who could see him even as a child, most jujutsu sorcerers could not actually see him due to this special skill.

Suguru is renowned for having a vast supply of cursed energy and the ability to control thousands of curses simultaneously. Suguru is extremely knowledgeable about the workings of Cursed Energy because of the nature of his jujutsu.

He can control it to make weapons out of it or cover up its flaws. He can also easily perceive the flow of cursed energy from other exorcists. Suguru’s innate technique, Cursed Spirit Manipulation, enables him to tame curses he absorbs by absorbing them into a little sphere that he swallows.

And while we cannot argue that Toji had a unique way of manifesting his powers, when Suguru Geto reached his peak, he surpassed these abilities, which is why we simply had to give him this point as well.

Points: Toji 0, Geto 2

Fighting skills

Physically, Toji is more powerful than most people. Also commonly emphasized is Toji’s remarkable speed, which renders it tough for his opponents to predict his movements. Megumi claimed that Toji was faster than Sukuna with two fingers. Toji had incredible agility and reflexes; during their fight, he avoided a close-range knife attempt despite having his foot stuck.

Toji is proficient with a variety of weapons. His entire combat plan is based on using weapons instead of dark energy. He keeps a huge arsenal in his curse, allowing him to switch between them swiftly as needed.

Suguru is an expert in both martial arts that use and don’t use weapons in hand-to-hand combat. Suguru takes advantage of the fact that his adversaries frequently underrate his physical prowess due to his ability to control curses to fight for him. He is also skilled with cursed weapons, as demonstrated by the Playful Cloud, an S-class cursed weapon he used to defeat Yuta and Rika. He was skilled enough to deflect both Rika’s physical attacks and Yuta’s sword strikes.

We’ve had trouble determining the winner in this category, as we’re unsure whether Geto’s actual physical capabilities surpassed Toji’s. Sure, Geto was skilled, but he had other abilities as well, whereas Toji focused on this aspect, as it was his primary skill. In light of that, we have decided to split the points.

Points: Toji 1, Geto 3

Intelligence

Toji approaches his assignments with caution and patience since he takes them seriously. He has amassed a wealth of information about the Three Clans, including some of their potent methods.

He uses the information to put strategies into action that work, as when he utilized them to wear out and slow Satoru and the Star Plasma Vessel. Also, Toji is a savvy fighter who quickly judges his opponents’ abilities. He quickly recognized Suguru’s tactics and the Split-Mouth Woman’s mastery of her Simple Domain early in their battle. In addition, he offered other tactics to counteract Satoru’s strengths during their initial conflict.

Suguru excelled in the school of exorcism from the beginning. His sharp mind served him well in combat; he could always think ahead of his adversary. Suguru battled the whole exorcist community using the resources amassed via a series of calculated actions, and the Parade of Curses successfully attracted all exorcists to Kyoto and Shinjuku.

In the meantime, Suguru managed to penetrate the Tokyo Exorcism School to confront Yuta face-to-face and seize Rika Orimoto, but he finally fell short since Yuta was simply too powerful for him.

This was likewise a difficult category to evaluate, as both of them are geniuses. Since their cunning is relatively similar, we have decided to split the final category as well.

Points: Toji 2, Geto 4

Gojo vs. Toji: Who Is Stronger & Would Win in a Fight?

Toji was able to beat Geto once, but at his peak – Geto would most likely triumph

And while the points were based on their peak-level powers, fans might wonder how Geto is such a clear winner when Toji beat Geto once. Sure, Toji Fushiguro is powerful, but he was actually able to defeat Geto and Gojo (only once, though) because they were still students back then and, thus, significantly weaker.

Over the years, Suguru Geto refined his skills and became one of the most powerful curse users in the series; in fact, it took Yuta to bring him down and Gojo to finish him off, and we know that Yuta’s level of power has been assessed to have the potential to surpass even Gojo’s, so that is why we think that Geto, at his peak, would be able to defeat Toji, despite losing to him when he was younger.
