Kozuki Momonosuke is the current shogun of Wano Country and patriarch of the Kozuki family, being the son of the last daimyo of the Kuri region, Kozuki Oden. He was born twenty-eight years before the current timeline but traveled twenty years into the future while still eight years old. He became a prominent character in the Wano County arc because of his endeavor, which is why One Piece keeps talking about him. We will do the same in this article, as we have decided to tell you when Kozuki Momonosuke becomes an adult in One Piece.
In what chapter and episode does Momonosuke grow up?
As far as Kozuki Momonosuke is concerned, everyone knows that he is the slightly perverted, slightly whining, slightly eccentric 8-year-old kid who can turn into a pink dragon and was part of Luffy’s alliance against Kaido and his allies in Wano Country. Now, we know that Momonosuke’s story involves time travel, but the character has been known as a kid for most of the time. And suddenly, he’s an adult. Okay, we will explain how it happened in our next section, but allow us to tell you when it happened in this one.
The scene in which we first see the adult Momonosuke appears in Chapter 1051 of the manga. The chapter was titled “Shogun of Wano Country, Kozuki Momonosuke,” and it came out on June 6, 2022; it is now part of Volume 104 of the manga series and the Wano Country Arc. In the anime, Kozuki grew up in Episode 1078 titled “He Returns! The Shogun of Wano Country Kozuki Momonsuke.”
How did Momonosuke grow up in One Piece?
Momonosuke was born 28 years ago on the Moby Dick, followed two years later by his sister Hiyori, while his parents, Oden and Toki, were on Whitebeard’s boat. Shortly after his sister’s birth, Oden met Gol D. Roger and decided to help him on his final journey. Momonosuke boarded the Oro Jackson with his parents and sister.
Shortly after the Pirate Roger visited Fishman Island, Toki fell ill and landed in Wano Country, in Kuri Province to be precise, with her two children. Shortly after arriving in Kuri and about six months before his father’s return, Kaido’s men attacked Kuri’s castle in an attempt to kill him as he was the only heir of the Kozuki clan. Still, they were stopped by Kawamatsu and Inuarashi, as well as by his mother, Toki, who even received an arrow in the thigh aimed at her son.
When he was eight years old, his father was executed by the shogun Orochi and his ally Kaido. At this time, he was in Kuri Castle with his sister and mother. This one, in order to save her son, as well as her servants, sent them 20 years in the future, using the power of the Toki Toki no Mi. Momonosuke, Kin’emon, Kanjuro, and Raizo set sail together to get to Zo, but they were shipwrecked on Dressrosa, where Doflamingo’s men attacked them.
Momonosuke hid on a boat on which he discovered lots of children who seemed to be sick and who had to go to a hospital for treatment! The boat quickly took to the sea without giving Momonosuke time to escape, and the young boy arrived on the island of Punk Hazard and was locked in the Cookie Room with the other children. Despite the latter’s kindness, he refused out of pride the food and sweets that they offered him.
He didn’t give them his name either and quickly ran out of the room. He then happened upon the Secret Room, Dr. Vegapunk’s former office. It was there that he saw the Artificial Devil Fruit behind a glass case.
Hungry, he broke the window to take the fruit and ate it. Shortly after, a little girl saw him and came to talk to him. Momonosuke tells him he must escape because he has something to accomplish. They chatted for a while until they heard guards arriving. The little girl then hid after advising Momonosuke to do the same. The moment the guards arrived, Momonosuke unconsciously transformed into a dragon. He only noticed his transformation after escaping the guards.
Passing in front of Caesar Clown’s office, Momonosuke heard the scientist’s words and understood that the children would die within five years. He wanted to warn the other children but hid in the trash so as not to be noticed. He, unfortunately, ended up in the dump. Soon after, Momonosuke met up with Luffy and became his ally. His role became crucial in Wano Country, where Shinobu used the powers of her Juku Juku no Mi to “ripen” Momonosuke into his true biological age. However, mentally, he remained a child. This is how Momonosuke grew up so quickly and how his life story evolved.
