Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular series of the modern era, and it makes sense that fans actually want to know as much as possible about the series and its characters. In this article, we are going to talk about one of the characters, Aoi Todo, as we are going to tell you what happened to him and whether he is alive or dead in the current timeline of the series.

Aoi Todo is alive in Jujutsu Kaisen, although he became less important after the Shibuya Incident. He was first introduced during the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, where he was initially portrayed as a brute, but it turned out that he had quite a good story and became one of Yuji’s best friends in that arc. He would later appear during the Shibuya Incident Arc, where he helped Yuji fight Mahito. He lost one of his hands during the battle against Mahito, rendering him unable to use Boogie Woogie, but he survived the battle, although he did not participate in the Culling Game.

The rest of this article will focus on the character of Aoi Todo and his ultimate fate in Jujutsu Kaisen. Aoi Todo is, in many ways, a unique and quite important character with a very intriguing story, which is why his ultimate fate is of interest to fans, and that actually motivated us to write up this article, in which we will reveal everything that is known about his fate, which is resolved later in the manga. This article might contain a significant number of spoilers, so do be careful while you’re reading.

Aoi Todo is alive, although it remains to be seen what role he’ll play (if any) in the future of the series

Aoi Todo is a third-year and strongest student at the Kyoto Metropolitan Curse Technical College. He is a tall and muscular boy with an exuberant character and always looking for opponents worthy of him. He usually asks his interlocutors about their ideal type of woman, and if his answer doesn’t satisfy him, he doesn’t hesitate to attack them.

He is incredibly strong in hand-to-hand combat, defeating five first-level and one special-level cursed spirits during an attack on Kyoto. Although he has the appearance of a man who is all brawn and has no brains, Todo is extremely intelligent, to the point of being able to concoct strategies and entire conversations in his imagination of him in a hundredth of a second.

His cursed technique, Boogie Woogie, allows him to swap the positions of two things by clapping his hands. He believes that Yuji is his brother and that they went to the same middle school. He also taught Yuji how to control his evil energy. He helps Yuji fight Mahito during the Shibuya incident, though he loses his arm, preventing him from using his technique again.

Aoi is a very strong sorcerer and unquestionably one of the strongest pupils at Jujutsu High. Despite originating from a non-sorcerer household, he was a student and attained the Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer status. During Geto’s assault on Kyoto, Aoi defeated five Grade 1 Cursed Spirits and one Special Grade by herself. To defeat the special grade, he solely employed his cursed technique.

This accomplishment made Aoi well-known among jujutsu practitioners and spread the myth that he had done so without the aid of his cursed method. Aoi is physically stronger than Maki, and Panda, and is somewhere around Yuji’s level in that aspect. He fights with brutal martial arts and power.

So, as you might have assumed, Aoi Todo is a tough nut to crack, which means that even if he were dead, it would have been exceptionally difficult to kill him. But, as we have said, Aoi Todo is alive and well in the series, and we will tell you what happened to him in the story so that you can know the whole deal when his story is in question.

So, as you know, Aoi Todo was introduced as a Kyoto student during the Goodwill Event Arc, where he appeared to be a brute and a bully, but he actually wasn’t. He was highly intelligent, but due to being exceptionally powerful, he was also a narcissist, which was evident in his behavior towards others.

He was tasked with defeating and killing Yuji Itadori, but the two of them got so close that they became best friends and even fought together against their enemies. They actually managed to bond due to having similar personalities, and Aoi grew so fond of Yuji’s fighting spirit that he did not want to fulfill his mission.

Aoi would reappear during the Shibuya Incident Arc, where he was among the sorcerers who entered the barriers to fight against the curses. He actually arrived in time to interrupt the battle between Yuji and Mahito, intervening to help his friend against the powerful curse. As he was causing many problems for Mahito, he also managed to defeat his mutated humans, which put Yuji and him in a better position. He also demonstrated some great techniques during that battle, but Mahito still managed to touch one of his arms, which forced Aoi to cut it off to save his life.

Now, his Boogie Woogie was basically rendered useless, although he still managed to use it once to help Yuji land a blow, and he later made a bluff, tricking Mahito into thinking that he would use it, whence he did not. This allowed Yuji to land another strike on Mahito and win. Ultimately, we can confirm that Aoi is alive in the series, but we don’t know what Akutami has in store for him later, seeing that he has been severely limited in terms of his fighting potential.
