We’re halfway through the first season of ‘Gen V,’ and we’re only now starting to grasp the powers that young heroes on the rise have. In Episode 4, we saw Emma and Sam on the run, during which Sam got a full-blown meltdown and went after Doctor Carodosa. And while Godolkin University’s top students were in the room with him, none could contain him and get him to calm down. This is where Emma steps in, an unlikely hero, as she manages to subdue him in record time. So how strong is Little Cricket, especially compared to other characters?

  • Article Breakdown:
  • In her giant form, Emma, or Little Cricket, has extreme superhuman strength.
  • This is because her physical strength needs to increase along with her form in order to support her mass. The bigger she gets, the stronger she becomes.
  • Her powers work exactly like Ant-Man’s, as she is obviously a parody of Marvel’s famous character.

Emma has ridiculous amounts of physical strength

The first time we met Emma Meyer, we saw her in her small form, which is basically the only form we’ve seen so far. We’ve seen that the more she “purges,” the smaller she gets, and to restore her proper size, she needs to consume calories. It’s quite inconvenient and a source of great frustration for Emma as her “activation” is seen as gross and an eating disorder. And to be honest, Emma does have some body image issues, but she also has issues with her superpower. She constantly puts herself down, and she claims that her superpower is useless on more than one occasion.

This was until episode 4 when we saw Emma finally entering her “Giant” Form, confirming our suspicions that such a form even exists. While in her Giant Form, Emma was able to subdue Sam in record time despite him being labeled as one of the physically strongest supes in the series currently and is regarded as highly dangerous and destructive. So, what’s the deal with Emma’s Giant Form?

The bigger Emma gets, the stronger she gets, and her strength is potentially limitless

Emma needs to be super strong while in her Giant Form; otherwise, her muscles wouldn’t be able to support her newly acquired mass. The more her mass expands, the more her bodily tissues expand as well, including organs and vessels. Her lungs turn super giant, providing her super giant heart and blood vessels with enormous amounts of oxygen needed to fuel her supersized muscles. To summarize, Emma’s strength scales with her growth.

Because Emma’s organs grow the more she eats, the volume of her stomach expands as well, and her potential to grow is possibly limitless. As long as she has food around, Emma can likely continue growing and becoming stronger, although the calories needed for her to grow would most likely grow exponentially, eventually reaching unsatiable quantities because she would be burning massive amounts of calories just by breathing due to having supersized muscles (and everything else), and this is assuming that her metabolism works just like that of regular humans, I mean she is a super after all.

Now that we’ve covered the amateur science behind Emma’s strength, it’s time to compare her to other ‘Gen V’ and ‘The Boys’ supes.

Is Little Cricket stronger than Homelander?

It’s quite possible that Little Cricket could reach the size that would allow her to become stronger than Homelander, but based on what we’ve seen, it doesn’t seem likely. Homelander is, after all, a gold standard in strength, and he’s hailed far and wide as the strongest supe there is. But as I’ve said, Emma’s strength can continue to grow in potential, while Homelander is pretty much stuck with what he has now.

Queen Maeve has experience on her side but not the potential

Queen Maeve was the second physically strongest supe in the Seven, and we don’t doubt that she would be able to overpower Little Cricket in the state that she was in when she overpowered Sam. However, the same rules as when it comes to Homelander applies. She has the potential to increase her strenght, while Queen Maeve lost her powers and currently doesn’t have powers at all, so Little Cricket is stronger than Queen Maeve.

Is Little Cricket stronger than Soldier Boy?

Soldier Boy lost his title to Homelander and is now considered to be the second strongest being on Earth when it comes to pretty much all physical factors, so the conclusion is pretty obvious. Soldier Boy was at one point able to overpower his entire team alone, and since he was “treated” by Russians, he only got more vicious. So no, Little Cricket is most likely far weaker than Soldier Boy.

How does Emma compare to Golden Boy?

Hailed as the Homelander of his generation, Golden Boy had a bright future ahead of him before he decided to combust over Godolkin Academy and commit suicide since the only person who could seemingly kill Golden Boy was Golden Boy himself. In this case, even if, by some miracle, Emma managed to eat enough to increase her strength to this level, she would still most likely be weaker than him due to his pyrokinetic and thermal powers.

Is Little Cricket stronger than Jordan Li?

Jordan Li displayed enough strength when they were the only person who managed to slow down Golden Boy. We’ve seen that Jordan Li is possibly the most powerful supe currently on the campus due to the fact alone that they can change genders, and with this, their powerset changes as well, and still, Jordan Li failed to subdue Sam and Little Cricket managed to do that. Emma might not necessarily be more powerful than Jordan Li, but she is stronger.
