Here Is Where To Watch the ‘Undead Unluck’ Anime (Sub & Dub)

Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka, which has been ongoing since January 20, 2020, and has now been collected in 18 volumes as of the time of writing. The story is a supernatural adventure filled with humor. It follows a young woman named Fuuko Izumo, who has the bad luck of initiating “unluck” in anyone she comes into contact with and an “undead” man she named Andy, who is sick of his immortality and wants to die the best death ever. The two of them are soon tasked with discovering the mysteries of their world. An anime adaptation premiered on October 7, 2023; in this article, you will find out where you can watch it.

You can watch Undead Unluck on Hulu!

Undead Unluck promises to be quite a hit series, which is why fans worldwide are wondering where they can watch the series. The first episode of the series premiered on October 7, 2023, and will continue airing once a week until the first season is over. It is currently unknown how many episodes will be in the first season of Undead Unluck.

As for where you can watch it, we can confirm that Hulu is the only streaming platform you can legally watch Undead Unluck on. Back in June, the platform confirmed that it had acquired the exclusive streaming rights to the series, which made many fans happy. In that aspect, Undead Unluck is another great addition to Hulu’s already respectable anime library. Still, it is especially interesting because this is a Hulu exclusive, and it’s been a while since Hulu got such a great series as an exclusive.

At this moment, Hulu only has the subbed version, but if you keep reading, we will also reveal more information about the dub.

The fact that Hulu is part of Disney means that the series will probably be available via Disney+ at one point or another, but we’ll update this article once more information about this is known.

Will Undead Unluck be on Crunchyroll in the future?

We have said above that Hulu managed to grab the exclusive streaming rights to Undead Unluck, which means that it is not available on any other streaming platform; this means that Crunchyroll doesn’t have the series either, which is a shame for subscribers of that platform.

Crunchyroll is still the biggest anime provider on the market. Still, while Crunchyroll initially had a monopoly over the anime market (save for Netflix originals, for example), the situation has changed in recent years. Other streaming services (Netflix, Disney+, Hulu) have been getting more exclusive series, including some major titles (we’ve written extensively on how Disney+ managed to get Bleach, one of Crunchyroll’s major assets).

Crunchyroll still has the biggest anime library on the Internet, but if you want to see Undead Unluck, you’ll have to go to Hulu.

Will Undead Unluck be on any other streaming platform?

Based on what we said above, we can also confirm that no other streaming service offers Undead Unluck as of the time of writing this article. This means that Netflix, HBO, Amazon and Disney+ subscribers cannot watch the series, which is exclusively on Hulu at the moment. We don’t know if the situation is going to change in the future (Amazon and Apple will probably acquire the rights to sell – not stream! – individual episodes or the whole bundle, as usual), but it is unlikely that Hulu will simply give up the rights to the series to some other platform.

We have told you that the series might appear on Disney+ at one point in the future (as Hulu is part of Disney), but we’re not sure if and when that is going to happen, so we’ll have to wait for a confirmation in the future. We are, of course, going to update the article as soon as any new information on the show’s availability is released.

Will Undead Unluck have a dub?

Now that we have settled this, we can skip to the final issue at hand, which is the dub version of Undead Unluck and its availability. And while most anime fans prefer subs – that is a fact – some like dubbed versions, and we can confirm that there are some really great dubs out there, and based on our information, Undead Unluck might just make that list as well.

So, what do we know about the dub? Well, the dub is not yet available at the moment, but we can confirm that it is in the works, as per this audition call from June. This call confirmed that the renowned Bang Zoom! Studios is going to work on the dub, and knowing that they’re a truly great studio (they worked on Berserk, Hunter×Hunter, JoJo, Detective Conan, Re:Zero, and many others), we could be in for a treat.

No release date for a dub has been given as of the time of writing, but we can expect it in the upcoming month, as usual. We are going to update the article once more information is made available.
