Jujutsu Kaisen: Meet Nue, the Bird Megumi Was Using!
Because of his enormous popularity and overall importance for the story, Megumi Fushiguro is a character that has gained a lot of attention, and that is something that we have honored here on Fiction Horizon on more than one occasion. He is definitely one of the best and most relevant Jujutsu Kaisen characters, especially because he is part of the protagonist trio but also because he is now closely related to Sukuna. While we have most often discussed his situation and status in the series, in this article, we will discuss his abilities, as we will talk about Nue, which is related to Megumi’s Ten Shadows Technique!
Megumi’s Ten Shadows Technique is quite powerful
Before we continue with Nue exactly, we have to explain the origins of this creature, which are related to Megumi Fushiguro’s Ten Shadows Technique. So, to fully understand where Nue came from, we have to explain the Ten Shadows Technique, and that is exactly what we will do in this section of our article.
So, thanks to his Ten Shadows Technique, Megumi can produce a total of ten Shikigami, which are basically special entities controlled by their summoner. Due to the complexity of the procedure, it is generally not understood how a Shikigami is truly created using this method, but it is possible.
It is implied that to make the Shikigami, the user must mold their own cursed energy, and to do so, they must have a notion of the form or model they want their creation to take. After being created, the Shikigami must be purified or exorcised before the user can influence it. The technique is appropriately regarded as one of the most potent in the series because it offers infinite alternatives.
Shikigami, or familiars, are helpful allies for jujutsu sorcerers. Shikigami-shi are those with the power to call upon and use these beings in battle. Shikigami are actually vengeful deities summoned to battle by their summoner and connected to Japanese divination and ancient mythology. Anyone who is not knowledgeable in jujutsu sorcery cannot see the Shikigami, making them appear to be cursed, although they are actually not cursed spirits.
To call a Shikigami, no specialized skills are needed. To summon the Shikigami, the summoner must first make it submit to them. Calling a Shikigami is also frequently done with the use of a talisman. However, other, slightly more creative approaches depend on the summoner’s skills. Additionally, the Shikigami summoned emanate the same energy as the summoner because they were made from their cursed energy.
As you can see, summoning a Shikigami is both easy and difficult at the same time, as it all depends on the summoner’s skills and abilities, but generally, more skilled jujutsu sorcerers – and Megumi is certainly among them – don’t have problems summoning Shikigami. Now that we have explained this, we can continue with the story of Nue.
Nue is one of Megumi’s most reliable Shikigami
So, as we have said, Megumi can summon a total of ten Shikigami with his ability. Among these is Nue, a bird-like creature with a bird’s body and a humanoid face. Nue was introduced fairly early in the story (when Megumi faced Sukuna in Itadori’s body) before we even knew the details of Megumi’s technique and his powers and abilities. Over time, Nue has proven itself to be an exceptionally reliable Shikigami and is one of Megumi’s best creatures, so we have dedicated this whole article to you.
What inspired us? Well, in the most recent episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, Megumi saw Takuma Ino falling down from the building after being thrown down by Toji, who took over the “grandson’s” body. Ino was beaten and had Megumi not seen him. He would have fallen to his death. But as soon as he saw him, he summoned Nue and tried to catch Ino but failed; ultimately, it was Itadori who saved Ino, but Megumi soon used Nue to transport their friend to a safe location where he could be healed, as he was in very bad shape.
Nue is a very powerful creature. Megumi summons it by combining his palms in the shape of wings, and soon after, the owl-like creature arrives, being a very formidable opponent. Nue is fast, it has a lot of power, and the fact that it can fly speaks for itself, as it makes Nue even more dangerous for its opponents. Nue can also use electrical attacks, which is a powerful addition to its arsenal. Regarding firepower, Megumi can also combine it with Toad to create numerous winged frogs that he can use as allies in battle.
And that is more or less it when Nue is concerned. Megumi has used it on more than one occasion in the series, and Nue is undoubtedly one of his most reliable Shikigami, which is a fact that we have said more than once in this article. But we have decided to skip spoiling Nue’s story for you here. We’ve only given you a general outline.
