Ryuken will then say that if Ishida wishes to die or live, this choice was up to him. Apparently, he knows Ichigo’s father very well.
Ishida, Sōken (Bleach)
Sōken Ishida is Uryū’s grandfather and teacher and it seems he was the one who raised him. He died defending himself against five hollows that had attacked him. The shinigami arrived long after his death and that’s one of the reasons why Uryū hates them (In the anime he says that the shinigami’s tacky uniforms are another reason.) Uryū later finds out that the shinigami purposely delayed their intervention because they captured his grandfather’s soul to experiment on until it was destroyed (this is 12th Division Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi, who performed these experiments).

Around the time of his death, his villain role is minimized; Not only is it revealed that he offers help to Obito Uchiha to kill the clan, but it was all a plan created by the leaders of Konoha to control the coup that the Uchiha Clan was planning, being him the one who was entrusted with that mission. and to be affected by being classified as a criminal and a traitor.
