Did Naruto Ever Get Sasuke’s Eyes?

Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha are the two main characters from the Naruto series by Masashi Kishimoto. Naruto is the series’ protagonist and main hero, the one who saves the day in the end, and that is a status he has maintained throughout the series. On the other hand, Sasuke’s loyalties have fluctuated from him being a grumpy protagonist, a villain, and an antihero. Although they ended up being very close friends and allies, Naruto and Sasuke had a very turbulent relationship over the years. In this article, we are going to talk about that relationship and reveal whether Naruto Uzumaki ever got Sasuke’s eyes in the series or not.

No, Sasuke has never given his eyes to Naruto. Giving Dōjutsu-infused eyes to another character is nothing unusual in the world of Naruto, so it wouldn’t actually be strange had it happened (that is how Kakashi got his Sharingan, for example), but since this usually happens before a character’s death, it never happened between Naruto and Sasuke as both are alive.

In the rest of this article, we will focus on the relationship between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. You will find out how close the two were and why Naruto never received any of Sasuke’s eyes so far in the series. We will also tell you whether it could happen in the future, i.e., whether Sasuke could give one or both of his eyes to Naruto in the series. No, Naruto never got any of Sasuke’s eyes

Giving someone one’s own Dōjutsu-infused eyes is not unusual in the world of Naruto. We have to state that here, at the beginning of the article. We have seen it happen numerous times, which is present in the lore. For example, this is how Kakashi received his Sharingan – before seemingly dying, Obito gave him his left eye.

This is how these powers are transferred to other characters if they can use them. But, this usually happens when a character with the Dōjutsu-infused eye is dying, such as it happened in the case of Kakashi and Obito (okay, Obito ended up being saved eventually, but no one knew that at the time, not even Obito!). This means that it is theoretically possible for Sasuke to give Naruto both of his eyes and for Naruto to use them, but this would usually happen in a situation where Sasuke was dying (plus, Sasuke has, since lost his Rinnegan in Boruto, but we’re going to disregard that fact now, as it is not related to the general idea we are discussing here).

So, this is why we can openly state that Naruto has never gotten any of the eyes from Sasuke, as both of them are still alive and well (okay, Naruto is sealed away somewhere, but Boruto has reached a very complex point in its story so we won’t be digging too deep there). This is why there is no reason for Sasuke to give Naruto his eyes, especially because Naruto has his own powerful skills and abilities.

Sasuke would be able to do it, he is physically capable of doing it, but there is no reason for such a turn of events. Sasuke and Naruto almost died together before being healed by Sakura, but there wasn’t a situation where Sasuke was dying alone with Naruto by his side, which would have enabled Sasuke to initiate the transfer. Such a situation simply never happened; we hope it remains like that.

If you’ve seen some videos on YouTube showing Sasuke’s death, we have to warn you that these videos are fake, despite some of them being really, really good. This scene has not happened, and Sasuke did not die in Boruto; in fact, he is the only person whom Boruto can rely on at this moment, but as we have said, Boruto has taken a complex term narrative-wise.

We are not going to analyze this aspect in this article as it is not directly related to this issue. Also, we know that there are numerous fanfiction works focused on this element – Sasuke dying and giving Naruto (and/or Sakura) his eyes – but these are, of course, non-canon works and have nothing to do with the story of Naruto.

Now that we have cleared this up, we can also tell you whether Naruto could use Sasuke’s eyes. Namely, transferring the eyes is only one step in the whole process – the recipient has to be able to use them, and that is not always the case in the series, so for us to give a proper assessment of this situation, we also have to answer this question for you here. But the short answer is that Naruto would definitely be able to use both of Sasuke’s eyes in case he ever got them from the Uchiha. Why? Well, because of his chakra.

Namely, any shinobi with enough chakra is able to use Sasuke’s eyes. Sure, both of them are quite powerful and consume a lot of chakra (remember how many problems Kakashi had with his eye technique), but since Naruto has truly large chakra reserves, we are absolutely certain that he would be able to use both of Sasuke’s eyes easily.

Also, due to them being the reincarnations of Indra and Asura, Naruto and Sasuke actually have compatible chakra and are, in that aspect, able to produce a very beneficial effect – namely, we’re quite certain that due to their compatibility, there would be no chakra consumption, just as was the case when Hashirama’s and Madara’s chakra were combined. This is why this is a very special fact that we had to mention here and why this whole issue led us to give you this answer. Naruto could, thus, use both of Sasuke’s eyes, but he has not received any of them in the series thus far, and we hope it stays that way.
