Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Hashira, does, indeed, die at the end of the Demon Slayer manga. Mitsuri Kanroji is a very peculiar and beloved character in the series that had a profound influence on the plot. Her death was undoubtedly one of the saddest moments in the whole series, and we are going to bring you all the details surrounding it. Mitsuri Kanroji died while fighting Muzan
Long story short, the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King, was a horrible and exhausting one. Muzan demonstrated all of his powers and abilities, and even all the surviving Hashira had an exceptionally hard time fighting him. Many of them perished, and Mitsuri Kanroji was one of them, as we’ve seen her die alongside her love, Obanai Iguro. Now, with the fight being as messy as it was, it is unknown why exactly Mitsuri died, but we know that she received a fatal blow while fighting Muzan and that she died from these injuries. What follows in the upcoming paragraphs is a more detailed look at the whole situation and everything that’s happened in the series.
Mitsuri Kanroji was one of the most powerful fighters of the Demon Slayer Corps, although she did not seem like that. She was shy, somewhat clumsy, and very emotional but exceptionally strong, powerful, and dangerous. As the Love Hashira, she was one of the most powerful members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Her Love Breathing Style was created as her unique breathing style after training with Rengoku, the then-Flame Hashira. This is why she also knows Flame Breathing but has never mastered it.
She also has a unique muscle composition which is why she consumes unnaturally large amounts of food, as that is the only way for her to maintain her body strength, and we all know that Mitsuri is – in the physical sense – one of the strongest characters in the whole series, being able to lift heavy objects since she could walk.
Namely, since he had a close call to death during his battle with Yoriichi Tsugikuni, he also voiced legitimate concern for individuals who employed the Sun Breathing technique. He used this as an excuse to assault Tanjiro’s family, hoping to transform at least one of them into a demon. Since Nezuko was the only survivor of that tragedy, she eventually developed a resistance to the sun, and Muzan concentrated his efforts on capturing and devouring her to overcome his single known vulnerability. This led to a major obsession with Nezuko’s eradication.
But Tanjiro stands in the way of his efforts to capture Nezuko. However, the Demon Slayers Corps used Muzan’s obsession with Tanjiro and Nezuko to their advantage in order to capture him and wipe out all his remaining supporters. Muzan manages to kill Tamayo and many Demon Slayers before realizing that he is infected with a form of the humanity-restoring serum that Tamayo and Shinobu created with additional poisons that removed most of his skills and made him weak to be. We are discussing the last epic battle, but there is a catch.
Particularly, the fight between Muzan and the Demon Slayer Corps featured many combatants in the original manga. It was practically impossible to follow each character separately because of the utter chaos. Muzan was ultimately vanquished, but from our point of view, the conflict was complete mayhem. Because of this, we were never given the specifics of Mitsuri’s death or its reasons; all we know is that she passed away during the conflict with Muzan.
We are aware that Mitsuri appeared to pass away before returning, fighting, sobbing briefly, and nearly passing away twice or three more times before being saved. She continued to assist in the struggle against Muzan until it was revealed, after the battle, that she, Obanai, and Gyomei had all fallen victim to their wounds and perished after a valiant effort. This is not to say that the final battle was horrible, but it was difficult for us to keep track of everyone because it was awkwardly narrated and a little disorganized.
But before passing away, Mitsuri shared a heartfelt moment with her beloved Obanai. They could finally admit their feelings for one another just before they passed away, and both of them knew it. Again crying, she tells him how she feels and begs Obanai to promise that when they are reincarnated, they would be together. Obanai agrees. This is why Mitsuri’s passing was so tragic and terrible, but we did learn some good news later when we learned that Obanai and Mitsuri did wed in the course of the story after being reborn.
