Dr.STONE: Who Does Kohaku End up With?

The term “ship” in terms of anime is actually a shortened version of the word “relationship” and represents fan-based relationships between the characters in the series. So, if you think that two characters would be great as a couple, you’re “shipping” them together. As far as Dr.STONE ships are concerned, one of the often discussed characters in this category is Kohaku, who is, incidentally, one of the most popular characters in the series as well. In this article, we have decided to explain whether Kohaku ended up with anyone at the end of the manga or whether she is still single.

Kohaku never ended up with anyone in the Dr.STONE manga. We know she had a close relationship with Senku and that she was fiercely loyal to him, but she did not end up with him, as the manga’s ending revealed. She was last seen attending the wedding of Taiju and Yuzuriha, when it was also confirmed that she did not end up with Senku, as fans hoped and suspected.

The rest of this article will explore the potential relationships of Kohaku, one of the most popular characters in the series. We will explore Kohaku’s personality in more detail, as well as some of the most popular ships involving her and the characters seen in Dr.STONE. This article won’t contain too many spoilers, but still, be careful how you approach it if you don’t know the whole story.

Kohaku had a very peculiar personality

Kohaku is the sister of Ruri, Senku’s former wife, and one of the fighters and guards of the Ishigami village. With her superior strength, quickness, and sharp eyesight, she is also the village’s best warrior. When witnessing Senku challenge Tsukasa and then save her when she nearly gets crushed by a tree, Kohaku develops a liking for Senku and joins the Science Realm power group. Kohaku becomes Senku’s first ally in the Stone World. (although she is often annoyed by her personality and mannerisms). Her name means “amber” in Japanese.

Kohaku is a compassionate young person who looks for her ailing older sister and will go to any lengths to keep her safe. This concern extends to all of her allies and fellow soldiers. To avoid upsetting her sister and the villagers, she was ready to lie and put up with reprimands in order to keep a secret about being attacked by Shishio. She also has a bold and boisterous nature and frequently reacts furiously when she hears someone comparing her to a gorilla or lioness because of her power and appearance.

She also occasionally acts irrationally by acting on her feelings. Kohaku also has a playful side, asking Chrome if his feelings for her could be complicated because she looks so much like her sister. She is consistently amazed by Senku’s scientific innovations, but it initially took her some time to realize that they are not merely magic. Kohaku is skilled in battle, hunting, and general survival. While swimming or getting dressed, she has no difficulty rubbing shoulders with boys; nevertheless, if a boy makes a lewd gesture toward her breasts, she will react angrily. She is intelligent and has great instincts. At the beginning of the manga, Kohaku frequently attacks people she doesn’t trust.

Gen initially admitted to being a spy for Shishio; she even attacked this one without fully understanding why he attempted to assassinate Senku, which demonstrates her dedication to the people she adores. She also has a powerful sense of justice, which along with her passion pushes her into risky circumstances like her bout with Shishio, a more experienced fighter. Kohaku breaks this behavior as a result of Senku’s repeated reprimands and encouragement to plan ahead, although his temper is still explosive.

She seems to be a good character assessor, perhaps because of her instincts. She was able to infer that Gen was the kind of person who prized her devotion and friendship with Senku while being able to lie without batting an eye and pretending to simply work for her own self-interest. In addition, Kohaku understood that Chrome was in love with Ruri while he was still oblivious to his own emotions. Kohaku was also somewhat able to discern Senku’s personality.

Most popular ships involving Kohaku

In this section, we are going to discuss some of the more probable ships involving Kohaku:

Senku Ishigami

Senku and Kohaku had a very close bond. The two of them first meet when Senku goes off on his own. She was impressed by his demeanor and his skills, seeing in him a true gentleman, especially after he saves Yuzuriha. She was impressed by his demeanor, and it was obvious from the start that she fancied him. As time passed, the two of them became increasingly close to each other, and the Senhaku ship became one of the most popular fanon ships in the whole series (a lot of other ships actually became a canon at some point).

Kohaku considers Senku to be a close friend, and Senku shares the same sentiments. She is very loyal to him, whereas he is very protective towards her and cares for her a lot. Senku was definitely willing to do what it took to protect Kohaku, and Kohaku was definitely the most loyal friend Senku had in the series. But, underneath that close yet friendly bond, Kohaku had genuine feelings for Senku, although she was perfectly content to live with them not being reciprocated. This is evident throughout the story.

For example, Senku constantly teased her by calling her lioness or gorilla, knowing that she hated these names, but she never really got mad at him for that; on the other hand, if Chrome would do the same, Kohaku would kick his ass promptly. Kohaku was also quite shocked when Senku married her sister, Ruri, although he did divorce her promptly, as it was all part of a plan, and Senku never intended to be with Ruri, as he knew that she and Chrome loved each other. On top of that, she actually admitted that she found Senku physically attractive at one point.

The two of them even kissed once, or, to be more precise, Kohaku kissed Senku, but it was more of a reflex reaction at the moment than anything else. She did hug him sincerely, though, and she never really hid the fact that she cared deeply for him. But, regardless of that, Kohaku and Senku never became a couple. Kohaku was seen attending a wedding alone, while Senku went back in time to save those he could not, so the two of them remained close friends, but they never became a couple in the canon.

Tsukasa Shishio

Tsukasa Shishio was initially an enemy, and Kohaku viewed him as such, especially after he kidnapped Yuzuriha and almost killed Senku. She would later engage him in a fight, and she would recognize his strength as a fighter, but she never really developed any romantic feelings for him. When it was revealed that Tsukasa had a sick sister, much like Kohaku, she started to relate to him on a more personal level. Eventually, the two of them were on better terms, working together to help Senku.

Still, there were never any romantic feelings between them. It was clear that this was just a vague fandom ship that had absolutely nothing to do with the reality of the story, as there was simply no chance that the two of them would end up together in the story.
