Jujutsu Kaisen: All the Characters That Mahito Killed!
Mahito is a major villain in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and anime. An important member of Pseudo-Geto’s team of villains, Mahito caused trouble for the Jujutsu Sorcerers and is infamously known for causing the death of Nanami, which is why many fans hate him. He later fought Yuji, Nobara, and Aoi Todo, seemingly killing Nobara and almost killing Yuji in the process. And while we have told you a lot about his story and his fate, there is an additional detail that we can talk about here.
Namely, we know that Mahito was one of the most vile and despised villains in the whole series. He left a large number of victims behind him, and in this article, we are going to talk about his killing spree by telling whom Mahito killed in Jujutsu Kaisen. This article will be a list of all the people Mahito killed; they are going to be listed chronologically, as we are going to provide all the known details about each individual death shown in the series.
1. The bullies in the cinema
The three boys in the cinema were Mahito’s first known victims. He simply transfigured and killed them, which was also the first thing he did in his plan to manipulate and use Junpei. After this, Junpei and Mahito become closer, but that will, as you will see soon, prove to be a fatal experience for the young boy. The bullies are not really relevant characters, so we don’t have much to tell you, but they were the first on-screen victims of Mahito’s seen in the series.
2. Junpei Yoshino
Junpei Yoshino is, like many of Mahito’s victims, a character with a sad story. Mahito used him, manipulated him, and then dumped him like a piece of trash, which added an extra layer of tragedy to his already sad story. Mahito used Junpei’s vulnerability and turned him into his pawn, but he ultimately transfigured him into a horror and let him die, which was a very vile thing to do. Junpei’s death showed just how wicked and vile Mahito was.
3. Kokichi Muta (Mechamaru)
Mechamaru was identified as the traitor after the Goodwill Event when it was discovered that he was feeding information to Kenjaku and his group. It turned out that he made a Binding Vow so that Mahito could restore his body to normal, but his ultimate goal was to kill Mahito and Kenjaku after they did their part of the deal.
Mechamaru was very close to killing Mahito, closer than anyone before him, but he let his guard down, and that was enough for the slick villain to actually kill him. Mechamaru’s death was also a very sad and tragic event because Mechamaru was not a bad person, and he did not deserve such an end because of his noble goals, but it happened as it did, and that’s it.
4. Numerous civilians in Shibuya
As far as this specific “victim” or group of victims is concerned, we really don’t have any precise information for you because no one really knows the extent of Mahito’s bloodshed in Shibuya. Hundreds of people were turned into Transfigured Humans, and we know that that is as good as being dead in the case of Mahito and his machinations, so we can count these people as his victims without a problem. On top of that, he also killed numerous people directly without them actually being transfigured.
As said, what Mahito did to people in Shibuya was horrible bloodshed, and there is no exact number that we can give you here, as the number is too high to count. Plus, not all of his victims were shown on screen, so it would be impossible to give a number here; we assume that the number is higher than 1,000, though, probably several thousand, but it is really too high to estimate.
5. Kento Nanami
The death of Kento Nanami was a truly traumatic experience for every Jujutsu Kaisen fan. It’s not just because he was a fan-favorite character with a great personality and one of the best mentors in the series, but also because his death was truly sad. Namely, Nanami had entered the veil in Shibuya and then fought several enemies, including the powerful Dagon and Jogo, saving Nobara and protecting Megumi and Maki from the cursed spirits, only to be half burned by Jogo.
Nanami did not deserve this, but even in such a condition, he fought a group of transfigured humans until he exhausted himself, and that is when Mahito came in and killed him in front of Yuji to break the kid. Nanami’s death was a tragedy because even though he was dying, he remained true to himself, and he put the safety of others in front of his own. Nanami’s murder is the main reason why people hate Mahito so much.
6. Nobara Kugisaki (unknown)
As far as Nobara is concerned, her fate is still up in the air. We know that she initially fought Mahito’s clone in the streets and then united with Yuji, but Mahito used a trick and was able to touch the left side of her face, her eye, to be precise, which caused it to explode, with Nobara seemingly dying. Okay, we know that Arata Nitta stopped Mahito’s curse from spreading further and wiping her out completely, but her chances are still slim; they are not zero, but they don’t seem to be much higher.
And while Nobara cannot be listed as one of Mahito’s victims completely, the fact that she has not appeared since gives us the right to list her here. She was gravely injured by Mahito, and her fate is unknown, so we have the right to list her here despite the fact that her death has not been confirmed yet. Nobara’s situation is also a major reason why people hate Mahito so much.
7. Aoi Todo’s hand (sort of?)
We decided to lighten the mood a bit with this last one, simply to not have a completely grim article here for you. Namely, during the fight against Yuji and Todo, Mahito activated the 0.2-second Domain Expansion and managed to touch Todo’s hand, which immediately began to transfigure. Todo sliced his own arm off to stop the transfiguration from stopping and he soon lost the usage of his Innate Technique, Boogie Woogie.
And that is actually why we listed it here. Todo would have died had he not sliced his own arm off, so we listed Todo’s arm as Mahito’s last “victim” on this list. Yeah, we know it’s funny, and we wanted to add a bit of humor on purpose, so we hope that this made you laugh, even if only a bit, because this is what we are going to end the article with, happy that Mahito is gone and that this list is final.
